Is that right now. I'm having really really bad thoughts. Thoughts I want to stop but can't. I'm terrified. I'm scared out of my mind. As much as I know it'll past it's still here. I'm under so much stress it's not even funny. Sometimes I just can't deal with it and I can't just walk away because when I stop doing something the thoughts win. They multiply. They are horrible. They are terrifying. I can't calm down as much as I want to it won't stop.

Relax, clear your mind, then tell yourself no. Then occupy your brain with something else, like a complex puzzle or brain teaser. Think of good things like kittens, butterflies, and popcorn and keep yourself and mind occupied. If you have been watching creepy movies lately, or anything like that, stop it.
Watch a movie or make up a story. If I think about the internet, and games on it at night, it stimulates me and I can't sleep. So I create a story in my head to help me fall asleep and distract me from my other thoughts..
If you can't stop it, and you really feel like getting professional help, then I suggest it. They can probably help more than you think...

Well you took the first major step in at least opening up about it and not keeping it inside. Is there someone you can confide in that you can talk to?
You're not alone in having the type of thoughts/feelings that you are having. As suggested above a psychologist or therapist can help in many ways, plus point you in the right direction with self help groups.
It is a great thing though that you opened up some here and shared.

I am so sorry it is so dark for you right now. I completely understand having struggled with depression for most of my life. Sometimes no matter what you think of trying the thoughts will just keep coming back and the reasonable side of yourself is overwhelmed by them.
But don't worry it is going to be alright. Sometimes distraction and action is the best remedy such as, working on a project with loud background noise such as a tv show or radio. Music can often have the opposite effect which is why something you can watch and half focus on while doing something with your hands is helpful.
Writing all your fears, anxieties and stressful events down on a piece of thin paper in a scrawl only you can understand, keeping it in your pocket, and when you start to feel overwhelmed crumple and tear the paper into shreds in your pocket. Burn or throw away the shreds and take a deep breath while doing so. I know that may sound clinical but it has helped me deal with anxiety for years and is a helpful form of release when I can't escape my brain.
Talking to someone you are close to can help. Also a long walk with headphones helps. If you aren't feeling safe to leave or talk to someone in person I have a completely open ear and would really like to help if I could.
I hope you know that you aren't alone and I really hope I could help a bit.
