Monsters and humans shared a planet, but had two completely different worlds. Monsters lived through a veil of illusions hidden to human eyes. All monsters had a human form they could take, but eventually would have to return to their original form as transforming took energy, not much, but enough so that it would wear away over time.
As humans became somewhat aware of monsters existence, they began hunting them. Monsters such as Vampires and Werewolves had no issues with their population, as they could easily make more of their kind, but Sirens, Kitsunes, and Nagas, who had no way of turning humans into their kind, suffered much more substantial losses.
There are now only 1 left of each kind, and the Association is trying to take them into custody in order to protect them. The association was formed by a Vampire in order to return the secrecy of monsters, and protect them from humans.
Witches are a hybrid between monster and human. The witch child is neither monster nor human, but had a human appearance with some monster traits. Vampires can turn humans into vampires by using their fangs to inject their blood into a mortal, and werewolves can create new werewolves by biting a human on a full moon. Purebloods are a result of two monster parents of the same type having an offspring (ex: a born vampire and a human-turned vampire would have a pure blood kid, two bitten werewolves having a kid would be a pure blood) pure bloods are also much more powerful than turned counterparts.

Hes the illegitimate son of the current head of the association. His father had an affair with a human woman, and he was born. His mother died of unknown causes shortly after and has minimal contact with his father, despite living out of a house paid for by his father. He sells potions to monsters now, and still drinks blood like vampires do. He also has a sun allergy and pale skin, similar to a vampire, plus his large fangs make him stand out quite a bit.

Personality: Curious and excitable, she waits at the surface to speak with anyone who comes by. She gets easily frustrated with someone who is afraid to stand up for what they believe in, which is why she is strongly opinionated, despite her family being neutral about most things. Kyliana is a fast learner and can target the mental weaknesses of others with cunning. Sometimes, she doesn't realize she's doing it. She's scared something terrible will happen to Heirada, and is terrified of being caught in a net and taken from the water.
Bio: She is the younger of two mermaid princesses. Her sister, Heirada is 20, in training to be the future queen (may add later). Kyliana feels constantly suppressed by her sister's neutral attitude about it, and how rule-abiding she is, and comes to the surface to spite her. The two sisters are almost complete opposites.

Personality: She can be a bit fearfull around newcomers but warm up quickly. Playfull and a bit mischivious, she isn't above pranking the others and workers at the institute.
Appearance:
her human look is the same but with legs instead of a tail, she isn't too good at walking/running.
Bio: She was found as a lonely egg hiden away, it's unnown if her mother had ment to hide it to protect her baby or if the egg got lost or stolen from a nest at some point. Eather way she grew up in the care of an human familly until the association took her in for her safety.
