I've been releasing pets, half for the Patriotic event and half for the nests. I got the note that one of my pets found a nest, but I died before I could get to it. Will the chance to find a nest reset because one spawned, even though I was nowhere near it, or will the chance remain the same until I actually get an egg from a nest?

the nest will not despawn because you were KO'd- just like bosses, nests remain

as long as you dont exit LG the nest will still be there for you to hunt down, going in the Barracks wont cause it to go away neather, they are following the same mechanisme then the others items/ bosses on the map.

Actually, I did end up having to exit, but I eventually did get the nest. It spawned three consecutive times without fail, so it seems that the nest will appear somewhere so long as you haven't yet touched it.
