(I wish America did it like England, day/month/year, going with the shortest time span to longest. But we always have to mess things up don't we? Well, in this rp I am doing it the English way. Sorry if I confuse you.)

Amaury City... a place full of Superheros and Supervillains. But it wasnt always that way.
In 2000, a meteorite struck Amaury City. When it came in contact with the city, it transformed into a strange gas. No one knows how, and since the remains are long gone probably no one ever will.
The gas spread throughout the area, and many people inhaled it. Some who did died, a few gained special abilities, but to most people, nothing happened.
The government took a several samples of the gas before the rest of it seemingly disappeared, and those few samples are closely guarded.
Amaury City, although mainly the individuals with special abilities, now had a whole new world open before them. Some of these people turned to crime, hoping to gain riches, power, or whatever else they desired with their newfound strengths. Others rose up to stop these villains, and some people tried to continue their lives as if nothing had happened...


RULES:
1. No cussing. I don't care what your character is like, there are other ways to express anger/frustration/etc. other than cussing.
2. No power-playing.
3. I get the final say. Example, if I say you were hit, you may ASK if you can dodge (and provide reasoning if wanted/necessary), but no complaining if I say you get hit anyway.
4. Private message me this: Lightning. Otherwise you will not be accepted into the RP. Do NOT post it into the thread.
5. In order to keep the time cycle right for everyone, I am going to keep the in game date at the top of the thread. When you post, make sure you include the date in your post. It helps keep things organized for me.
6. Quote or bold me (and other players if you are interacting with them) when you reply. Also make sure you ping as well.
7. If you are going to be inactive for more than a few days, please let me know. Because of the time cycle, all players are required to be active, preferably daily.
8. Careful, you can die. What? If you couldn't, then there would never be any risks, would there? You have been warned...
9. No, you are not limited to only being a hero. You can be a villain too, if you like, or anything else. This character is yours. Your career, however, is another matter. Choose something reasonable. Don't ask to be the mayor or anything. If I decline you a career for any reason, do not complain.
10. I might add more rules as the need comes up, in which case I will ping all players. When this happens you MUST read the new rules before continuing to roleplay.

Before you read this, yes, I know the categories are messed up. Swirlspot color-coded the map, but she coded it by area instead of building type, so I'm stuck with this. I realize a courthouse does not belong in the residential category, but due to how it was color coded, this is how I am doing it.

Backstory: He inhaled the gas when it covered the city, and now he's got powers. He's the only one in the entire family (which consists of 2 parents and 5 boys, including him) and he's the oldest so...yeah. It's awkward. Especially because he keeps getting begged to turn into a dog by two of his brothers so they can impress their friends from school.

Gender: Female
Age: 21
Backstory: Liam has a very odd family. It consists of her two dads (She calls the tall blond 'Father' and the stout brunet 'Papa'). She's the youngest and the only girl of triplets. Her brother's names are Robert (The eldest) and Josef (The second youngest of the three.) When she inhaled the fumes she had gotten extremely sick and lost most use of her vocal cords. She can only talk at a whisper level. She tries to live like a normal person, afraid she might harm others. But she isn't afraid to get dirty if needed. Liam and her family live in a poor part of the city. Her family is well known in those parts. She's like their little guardian, just incase anything goes nasty.
Career: Works at a small bookstore in the City Mall.
Living area: In the residential area between the church and zoo.
Powers (optional): She can distort/control other's minds to an extent. Depending on how strong the person's mind is, is how much energy she has to use to get to them. More often than not she passes out after using this. Liam can only use this once a day as well. She is also limited on causing people to pass out, fall asleep, or get some what of an answer out of some one at the moment. Other side affects than passing out- Going into a coma for up to three days, nausea, a migraine times ten, and her own brain problems. (Will find out more later.)

Backstory: hes an orphan. Always was. His parents worked at a nuclear power plant, but he came in one day for Take your Kid to Work Day. The power plant exploded as a radioactive spider bit him, giving him Godzilla powers, a second layer of skin that would become his wings, and spider sense.
Career: none
Living area: None (orphan)
Powers (optional): web slinging, gliding with wings, radiation breath (like Godzillas)
Picture (optional): basically my avatar, remove everything but the wings, and give him a ripped T-Shirt and jeans. His Spider suit is like the normal, but its pitch-black and has holes for the wings and Godzilla spines.
