The man above, later identified as Alistar Harley, was found stabbed to death in a brutal manner in the alleyway behind the bakery Fresh n' Bake. Three gangs in the area have been suspected of the murder, but it is still unknown who is responsible. Nicknamed some years ago, he became known as the "King of the Sewers", stealing enormous amounts of food and supplies for an unknown reason. Whatever the cause, people may now rest knowing their bakeries and stores are safe. The man also had a journal with pictures of individual children, but the reason it was in his possession was unknown.
TVs played the same news channel throughout the city, and Alistar's face was everywhere. The children who were out on patrol and on food runs ran the message back to everyone in panic. For now, no one left the sewers, because they didn't have their protection anymore. How long before their home wouldn't be safe as it had been for so long?
(You could start as to how they're reacting to his death, or where they're at in the sewers, what they're doing etc ^^)

(Alrighty)
She stares at the tv behind a store's glass. He's... gone? Her steps falter, she frowns, unsure if it's some nightmare. She shakes her head, stepping back. They repeat on every news channel, she quickly sprints off, wanting to know if it is true for herself.

Allura Javis | Female | 14 Years | Location: | Interactions: Queenie Javis
Allura was sitting quietly in the nursery area of the sewers, mindlessly braiding Queenie's hair. The death of Alistar had hit her very hard, and she didn't know exactly what to say or ever do. He'd been the only one there for her since she was eight years old, and quite frankly she didn't know where she'd be without him. His smile was always so warm and brave, like there was nothing wrong with the world. She missed it terribly.
Queenie silently sat with Allura, not knowing Alistar was gone due to everyone not knowing how to explain death to a five year old. She had no clue why everyone seemed sad today, and they told her that they lost something valuable. When she asked what they lost, and offered to find it, no one looked her in the eyes.
"Alu? Are you still sad?" She asked with her soft and childish voice, looking back at her. Seeing Allura sad made her sad. She didn't like that.

Perseus was sitting on a ledge some ways down the sewers where everyone else was normally at, reading a book silently to himself. Whenever he was angry or upset, this was where to find him. The book trembled in his hands slightly as he tried to not think about Alistar's death, but he couldn't stop the tears from spilling on the pages of his book. What now? What if his mother got a hold of him again? He could never see that woman again. He didn't even want to call her mother.
Kassian Harlin | Male | 16 Years | Location: | Interactions:
Kassian was smoking outside the sewer entrance. His face was twisted in a scowl, and everything inside him threatened to shatter. He wanted whoever killed Alistar dead, more than dead, he wanted to string them up from a building and beat them until every limb was broken. Then he'd cut the string and let them fall. Let his own smile of satisfaction be the last thing they see.
He blew out a puff of smoke and grit his teeth a bit more. Why now of all times? Alistar had deserved a better death. A longer life. He deserved better, because in the end Alistar had been one of them. He's been on the streets longer than anyone here. And yet he gets murdered like he means nothing. It made him sick.

She sprints past him and into the sewer, frantically looking around for Alu.

Allura didn't answer her for once, and just spaced out on braiding Queenie's hair.

Kassian watched her sprint by, and sighed just a little bit. Judging by how frightened she was, and how fast she ran, she'd just been told about Alistar. He wasn't very good at the whole comfort thing, so he didn't try to stop her.

Lue sat up in a nook, flipping through a book he found in a box. It was about some war, with this weird mystery man. Suddenly there was a hand on his leg. Lue jumped, dropping his book. He looked down at a freckles boy. "Hey, Snowball~", Florence said in a flirty voice.
" H-hi, Flore. ", The white boy said, blushing.

She stops in front of Allure, her eyes wide in fear. "It's not true, tell me it's not true." She whispers.

It was hard to ignore the stares.
Everywhere she went in the city, everyone would look at her, whispering.
Oh, that poor girl.
Look, she's homeless.
Didn't her family want her?
Bastille di Aquilla didn't want their sympathy, didn't want their pity. She wasn't sure if she preferred the ones who felt sorry for her, teased her for living on the streets, or flat out ignored her.
Well, she could ignore them too.
Bast walked down a less-crowded street, heading for the store that always had the TVs in the windows. It was her only way of getting fresh news. Everything she read in discarded newspapers was already old.
There was a large crowd outside, all pressed against the window.
What's with all the people? she wondered. Pushing past people, Bast fought her way to the front of the press of people, ignoring their angry explanations. She didn't care what they thought of her - she hadn't heard from her surrogate father in over a week, and she had no idea what had happened to him. It had been impossible to ignore the worm of dread gnawing at her stomach, and her bare feet had simply carried her here for any word on him.
There was a face on the screen. Bast almost didn't recognize him - he was far younger, and in better health. The words took too long to register.
"The so-called King Of The Sewers has been found dead..."
A single tear rolled down Bast's face. She didn't feel it splash off her chin. No, she only felt a creeping cold.
"He was discovered by Samantha Adams, who lived on the street where the King was discovered."
Bast couldn't stand the words, the horrible, damning words.
He couldn't be dead.
"He was stabbed to death, but by who or why is unknown. A full investigation is taking place."
Bast whirled. She ran. She didn't know where she was going, didn't care.
No.
She didn't cry as she ran. As much as she wanted to, needed to, she didn't seem to be able to shed anything other than that one, single tear.
She later found herself at the top of the old, abandoned warehouse building the Sewer King's children had lived in. She curled into a ball in the corner of the roof, dangerously close to the edge, sobbing.
But the tears wouldn't come.
