Anyone know what element (fire, water, ect.) goes with what type of equipment (illusionist, assassin, ect.)?

At level 60+ it is best to get lost grove equipment.

Blue (exotic) or purple (vinethorn) lost grove equipment is better than legendary regular equipment!!

For lost grove gear:
Reaver = Shadow
Pyromancer = Fire
Lightbringer = Light
Storm Caller = Air
Tidal Lord = Water
Warden = Earth

But since you asked about regular equipment, generally speaking it goes like the following:

Assassin = Earth & Water
Illusionist = Light & Shadow
Evoker = Fire
Myrmidon = Air

Arcanist = Light, Fire, or Shadow mission pets
Ravager = Air, Water, or Earth mission pets

Disciple = Not sure what to do with pet so getting a perfect balance (no strengths, no weaknesses).

Not quite that clear cut, with the LG equips- depends on what you want out of the pet's stats.

A lot of people- most, really, I think?- run their Light Healers with Pyromancer to up the chance of critical heals, for example (we run ours with lightbringer/pyromancer combo for the higher dex but also that bit more speed the lightbringer gear gives)

We run our main tank (earth) with both tidal lord and warden to get both the higher Str boost from Tidal and the higher Agi boost from Warden.

It probably depends just on... what works for a person't preference (although Fire and Air you'd want to keep with full pyromancer and Stormcaller respectively)

True Scath, there are a lot of options and variations that still work. (Like the ones you mentioned).

But there are also a lot of variations that are not helpful! =P

So for simplicity's sake, I find sharing the general rule to be useful. Then those who enjoy tweaking and maximizing can find changes that work. :)

Whilte true for other variants, though, Pyromancer on Light pets is both helpful and so far as I'm aware more used than Lightbringer on Light pets?
