Prologue

Silver-gray light made the medicine den glow awakening the scrawny dark brown she-cat. She bolted out after a moment, and through the darkness she sprinted over, through the thin layer of snow, to her leaders den. She pushed aside the tendrils of ivy that covered the den. The pungent smell of fish hit her he must have eaten recently she thought. The black tom sat up slowly "What is it Marshcloud?" he yawned.
"I just received a sign from Starclan." Marshcloud spoke calmly catching her breath.
"Well I'm listening." He said.
She breathed smoothing her voice. "Four will be one and they will save the lake." Marshcloud meowed.
"Is there any more that was revealed?" He asked.
"No, I will tell you if there is, Smokestar." She said as she walked out of his den. She went back towards her den checking if there was enough supplies to make it through the last moon of leaf-bare.

Chapter 1

Moonkit opened her blue eyes slowly, for the first time. It's beautiful Moonkit thought. Snowpoppy looked at her lovingly "Welcome to the world Moonkit." She purred. Moonkit mewled as she walked towards her mother and her littermates who were already eating. She closed her eyes once again being plunged into darkness.

Moonkit woke up when she heard Foxkit asking Maplekit to go outside.
"Maplekit please, I really want to go!" Foxkit mewed.
"Fine, but go get Icekit and Moonkit, they should see it too." Maplekit responded rolling her eyes as she ran outside.
MoonKit sprang up. "What are we doing?!" She asked excitedly.
Icekit yawned looking a little curious. "We're going into the camp for the first time. Maplekit is waiting outside with some of the apprentices so they can show us around." Foxkit said quickly.
"Be careful, it's cold outside." Snowpoppy meowed, blinking the sleep out of her eyes.
"We will." Foxkit said, his tail twitching with impatience.
"Let's go!" Moonkit mewed while racing towards the entrance.
Foxkit and Icekit raced after her. They walked out in awe, the light layer of frost on the ground shimmered. They were met by the apprentices Batpaw and Hazelpaw, with Maplekit standing beside them. "So, Maplekit tells me you want to have us show you around." Batpaw said.
The three kits nodded with excitement. "Well come on then. My mentor will be back soon from patrol, so I don't have much time." He meowed with a flick of his tail.

Chapter 2
