Epilogue
Its been thousands of years since the founding of he Jade Mountain Academy, now called Jade Mountain Council, which is a meeting place for all the queens of every tribe to attend once every full moon. Hybrids are slightly more common, however are still considered a rarity, and Jade mountain still operates as a mixed tribe school, but its much larger now.

Transcript from Tundra, the Icewing council recorded

Queen Bramble: Now that all 7 queens are in attendance, the meeting will commence, who would like to speak first.

Queen Avalanche: I come bearing important, urgent news.

Queen Inferno: Proceed.

Queen Av.: As some of you may know, there has been a lot of new construction in the Icewing kingdom for a more proper embassy

Queen Yucca: Yes, we are all well aware

Queen Plumeria: We are all very grateful for your tribe attempting to be more hospitable towards warmer climate dragons

Queen Av: Thank you, Queen Plumeria, now, while construction was going on, we found what we initially thought to be a strange rock, but upon closer inspection, we found it to be an egg

Queen Azure: Of what tribe?

Queen Av.: Thats exactly what were working to discover

Queen Brightstar: Were?

Queen Av: My researchers discovered the answer when construction continued- albeit much more carefully, and we found almost 10 fully frozen dragons of possibly several unknown tribes

All: (murmuring frantically, many confused questions)

Queen Av.: Silence please! I must make a request. In order to study these new species, I wish to transfer the research center to the jade mountain, where the dragons can survive safely. We have not thawed out any of the dragons in fear of the cold damaging them, as they are currently in perfect condition. I also ask each tribe will send some researchers to document our findings

Queen Brs: I believe this calls for a queens vote. As we all know, 5 out of 7 queens must agree to a descision before it is made.

Queen Br: I will vote first, and I will approve the request.

Queen Yu: I second that vote, approved

Queen Br: Approved.

Queen Pl: I approve as well.

Queen Az: The order is passed, and I submit my full approval.

Queen Av.: Then it is decided. Each tribe will send a team of qualified researchers while the council/school building will clear a research area. My tribe will be solely responsible for transport. If there is no other news to share, meeting adjourned.

All: meeting adjourned

Chapter 1

*And youre sure youll be fine?* Squall asked her sister, who was preparing for her flight to jade mountain to research the newly discovered frozen dragons.

*Ill be fine!* Flurry retorted *Ive been waiting my whole entire life for an opportunity like this, and youre not going to support me?* Flurry challenged her sister, who just shook her head.

*its not that... Im just worried, what if its dangerous? Or cursed? I dont want you to get killed* Squall began raising her voice.

*Im still in Icewing, Squall! Im perfectly capable of taking down whatevers in my way* Flurry huffed, turning and taking off into the frigid skies, leaving her sister behind before Squall could get another word in.

Accompanied by a personal escort from the queens guard, Flurry made it to Jade mountain in just two days.

*This is where I leave you, Flurry, stay safe* her guard said with a dip of his head. He was of a slightly lower circle than her, so she never bothered learning his name, though she didnt really feel bad, this was likely the last time she would see him.

*Name?* a tall Mudwing asked her as she approached

*Flurry, Im the Icewing-*

*Icewing researched, got it, follow me to your room* he said, motioning for her to follow as they trekked down the long corridor. They stopped outside a partially frozen room.

*Were here. Theres a map and some information waiting for you inside, have a nice time, and stay safe* The mudwing said in an almost friendly tone as he left.

Flurry examined her new room. It would certainly be strange living without her sister, but it was a welcome change, as her and her sister often argued at all hours, even though they both tried to support each other. Flurry sighed as she put her stuff down, then picking up the two scrolls on her bed, laying down to read them.

Chapter 2

Crimson poked her head into the room at the end of the hallway, seeing a handsome Sandwing talking to a large seawing, pointing to a large chunk of frozen ice.

*Hello?* Crimson said as she entered the room, announcing her presence to the two males, who turned in her direction. *My name is Crimson, Im the skywing researcher* She introduced herself, fully entering the room now.

*Hello, crimson, my name is Arid, and thats Puddle* The sandwing introduced himself and the other dragon with a small smile.

*Once everyone else gets here, were going to start thawing the first block* Puddle tells Crimson, pointing to the number 1 carved on the ice block.

Puddle was a grayish blue color, with a bit of a darker color on his upper scales and horns, and a much lighter blue on his belly, while his glowing scales were a similar color to his main scale color, but much less gray and much brighter.

Arid, on the other talon, was very pale, as one would expect from a sandwing, but his underbelly was a slightly more yellow color, as were his wings as well. He had a few black scales along the top of his neck, but they thinned out closer to his body.

Crimson sat with the other two dragons, chatting about their homes while they awaited the others

Chapter 3

Axinte stood in his assigned position, with Arid, the sandwing, and Discovery, the nightwing to his left and right. The plan was to have all 4 of the fire breathing tribe dragons stand at the corners of the ice block and carefully thaw the egg out until the egg could be safely removed, then they would do the same with the other dragon corpses, melting it down until it could be freed safely without damage. Flurry, being the ice expert, was in charge of telling everyone when to stop.

On Elegant, the deep purple and light blue Rainwings signal, they would all start. The rainwing quickly turned a bright shade of green, signaling the start.

Axinite took a deep breath, blasting his flames at the large chunk of ice, and watched as it melted away, a large puddle began looking on the floor as the flames ate away at the ice.

*Stop!* Flurry cries out, causing the four flamethrowers to cease instantly. *Now we just wait, Arid, you can use your higher body temperature to help melt it now, to speed up the process and ensure the egg doesnt scramble.

*Hey, are we sure its an egg?* Axinite piped up. *Its much larger than eggs usually are* He commented, gaining reluctant agreement from Eleganct and Arid, quickly joined by Crimson.

*Im positive. Queen Avalanche says its an egg, so we treat it as such until it is fully proven otherwise* Flurry says confidently.

*Yeah, theres no harm in believing her, even if it isnt an egg, theres still three more ice blocks to thaw, lets get started* Discover said. Axinite agreed with Discovery, headed over to the second, the largest ice block to prepare

Chapter 4

Discovery froze like one of the dragons in the ice, the others were all too busy to notice her sudden halt.

many voices... so warm... so cold

The voice rang in her head for only a second, but that second made something click inside of her. While the others were off discussing the next course of option, Discovery crept over to the eggs chunk of ice, which had been put off to the side to thaw by itself, and checked back on the others

Its kind of dim in here... is it almost suntime? Am I allowed to take suntime while Im working here?

Is Crimson staring at me? No, that cant be... her scales are such a vibrant red color, Ive never seen anything like it

Oh no, did Arid see me staring at him? I hope he didnt notice, thats so embarrassing! Should I say something?

I should write a letter to Squall... I feel bad for running out on her like I did, but she refused to listen to me... maybe I should ask axinite for help, Mudwings are close to their siblings, right?

I miss my bigwings... and the rest of my sibs... I hope theyre all safe, I wonder if Duck had her eggs yet

Discovery stopped listening in on her colleagues thoughts, adamant that they were all preoccupied with their own thoughts as she inhaled, and carefully using her flames to thaw out the rest of the egg.

Light... free... leave... cramped, escape

Discovery felt her heart swell upon hearing the voice in the egg again.

A single cracking sound quieted the room, everyone whipping around to see Discovery, holding a talon out, completely enamored by the egg.

*WHAT DID YOU DO?* Roared Flurry in a fit of rage, frost breath beginning to steam around her mouth as she charges at discovery, who quickly swerved, pushing Flurry out of the way and jumping in front of the egg, spreading her wings protectively.

*Discovery, what are you doing?* Asked puddle, perplexed and scared

*Its hatching!* A bright pink and yellow form popped up next to Discovery, peaking over her wing and causing her to jump back in surprise, as did the others. Discovery silently cursed herself for not paying more attention to the rainwing.

*Hatching?* Flurry asked, amazed. *But... that should be impossible, it mustve been frozen in there for possibly hundreds of years...* Flurry said, slowly approaching the egg, as did the rest of the dragons. Discovery gently took the egg in her talons to hold while everyone crowded around as the small shape cracked and pushed through the egg.

Chapter 5

Elegant stood wide eyed as the giant dragonet hatched. It was much larger than any other dragonet she had ever seen- nearly two times bigger than any hatchling on Pyrrhia.

The large dragonet was colored a deep grayish color with a red colored stripe going from the corner of his eye all the way to his tail, and his eyes were the same reddish color, as were his wings. It looked around at the dragons surrounding it, spreading its wings and cooing weakly at the crowd.

Elegant was delighted, her scales were pure, brilliant yellow, but she soon realized that this newborn dragonet would be confused, seeing all the different, foreign dragons, and even though her body was the wrong shape, she still changed her scales so that her pattern mimicked the dragonet in front of her, who babbled happily upon seeing Elegants appearance.

If this little guy survived, I wonder if the other frozen dragons are still alive too Elegant though, reaching her talon out to the dragonet, who was trying to go towards her.

As soon as that thought flashed into Elegants mind, Discoverys eyes widened

*Oh my moons, Elegant, youre right! We have to thaw the other dragons right now!* Discovery exclaimed, handing the dragonet over to Elegant as she, Arid, Crimson, and Axinite rushes over to the other ice blocks, quickly and haphazardly melted the flames around the other frozen dragons, doing their best not to burn any scales or crack the ice and bodies inside.

Elegant turned her focus back to the dragonet with her, Flurry and Puddle at her side

*I guess youre his mother now* Puddle shrugs.

*Indeed, which leaves you responsibility of naming him* Flurry reminds Elegant with a nudge from her wing.

*I havent even considered it... um, I dont think a rainwing name would suit him much, do you guys have any suggestions?* Elegant asked, looking between the two fireless dragons.

*Maybe Megladon? Its a seawing name, but its a really big and ancient type of sea creature, so I think it fits*

*What about unfrozen? Or Thawed? Since thats what he is* Flurry suggests.

*I dont know... I wish we know what he was, so we could pick a name like his tribe wouldve*
