The Lands of PelMaru
An adoptables roleplay game.
(Working title; may change. Editing this post and the one below.)
Intro, worldbuilding, and Pel desc. here.
Hooves clattering against cobblestone, the warm
Standing at a yard tall on average, the canine-like Pel typically have short fur and tails quite similar to big cats. All Pel have horns of some kind, most often ram horns though other kinds are not uncommon. The fur of many Pel holds marking that can vary with seemingly no limit. Not all Pel are constrained to a simple, land-bound quadrupedal form, either. Some have wings, while others have fish-like adaptations for a more aquatic lifestyle. There is likely even more variation to be discovered.
There seems to be an equal amount of Pel groups are there are ones living on their own. These packs consist of an alpha pair, along with up to six other Pel. These packs, logically, allow the Pel to take down larger prey such as deer. Most individual Pel eat rabbits and other rodents, along with the occasional bird if they can catch it.
While the Pel are still certainly animals, they are definitely more intelligent than most other animals. They are highly receptive to training.

Pel Masterlist
Rules and Expectations
I control the environment as well as the success of your characters actions. Simply because your character attempts something does not guarantee that it will work.
Non-player characters are controled by me as well. I will be honest here and say that I am likely to use this to develop/show off my characters, and I have put a lot of effort into them.
Your character can die.
Your character may have one minor power as a thank-you for reading these rules. For balancing reasons, these may not be too powerful- the ability to create floating lights or a bound weapon are good examples.
It is not required, but I would appreciate replies longer than a single sentence with mostly correct grammar and capitalization.
Internal consistency and logic is key! I can be talked into much anything as long as it makes sense given what has already happened and how the universe works.
If for whatever reason your character dies, you may keep your Pel and make a new character for the waiting list if you so wish.
If you are inactive for more than a week without notifying me beforehand, your character will be considered lost and another person will be allowed to sail to the island of PelMaru. If wished you may be placed on the waiting list and use the same character without any stat changes.
At the start, I will only be accepting three players at a time. New people are allowed to apply but will be put on a waiting list until a new spot opens up.
Pel Rules
The Pel are a closed species. You may not create your own without my express permission, and all official artwork will be drawn by me.
You may create fanart of already created Pel as long as the owner of said Pel gives consent. You are also allowed to edit accessories and painted-on markings onto your Pel. This rule may not be abused, however, and I would like to ask that you refrain from making said accessories and markings look natural. One may not remove the watermark.
I will not be bothering to send the physical drawings to you, primarily because I do not want to know where you live.
There will be certain situations in-game that allow you to trade Pel with other players. (This is a primarily singleplayer game though.)
The Pel may be taken off Sylestia, as long as credit is given to me, preferably by linking the first post in this thread.
You may roleplay and write stories about your Pel with complete disregard to their in-game personality if you so wish.
I will be playing most of the Pel in-game- however, once you tame a Pel you may create a detailed personality reference for it. This reference must take into account previous actions the Pel has taken. If accepted, I will allow you to play the Pel in-game, though those rights may be revoked if they act out-of-character too often. This article may be helpful for creating the reference.
Useful Information
Race
What species your character is. This ranges from generic humans to centaurs or even the occasional sentient golem. The list here is only premade suggestions and one is allowed to make their own race- though it must be approved by me. After approval it will be added to this list. Creating variants of races is allowed.
Human
Words. (No advantages, no disadvantages.)
Elf
Words. (INT & DEX
Dwarf
Words. (STR & CON, though DEX is lowered and may occasionally have problems with height.)
Halfling
Words. (DEX & CHA, and can fit into places most normal people cannot. STR is lowered, however, and many people tend to treat them like children. There also tend to be more height-related problems for them than with dwarves.)
Centaur
Words. (Up STR & DEX, cannot wear leggings and must purchase (expensive) centaur armor for full benefit. They can buy regular armor, but it only gives a half bonus.)
Beastfolk
Words. (INT & (depends on variant))
Construct
Words. (CON & (depends of variant chosen, perhaps normal elements or go for other stuff?))
Occupation
While the career you pick will not alter your stats, they do provide a wide range of skills. The choices here are simple, generic classes. Please pick a more specific career and put the class in parentheses afterwards. You may put the specific skills picked, if applicable, after the parentheses.
Warrior
Featuring jobs such as gladiator or soldier, the primary skill of a warrior is their fighting style.
(Fighter, woodsman, rouge, merchant, farmer, craftsman, sailor, nobility.)
Motivation
Why is your character traveling to PelMaru?
Sponsor
As it turns out, sailing to a newly discovered island is expensive. While some of the more wealthy merchants and nobility certainly can pay for themselves, most others are not so fortunate. If you have an idea that does not fit into any of these categories, please do suggest. My intention is to cover everything.
(Self-sponsored, king/queen, major nobility, minor nobility, merchant, hitchhike.)
Stats
Because rolling a die does not take into account any physical/mental capabilities your character may have, I have added statistics to your form.
Every character begins with six points to allot any of their stats. HP goes up by five for every point, while the other stats go up by one. You may also transfer up to two points from any of your stats to any other stats.
HP
HP is how much health your character has. If their temporary HP depletes to zero, they die. Unlike all other stats, this one begins at a value of twenty and increases by five with each point invested.
STR
Standing for strength, this stat will make moving heavy objects easier as well as increasing the damage dealt by physical attacks. As with most other stats, it starts at zero and is increased by one with each point invested.
INT
Rather than intelligence, this stands for intuition- as well as perception, to avoid having to make another stat. While primarily used for spotting and identifying objects, this stat also increases the chance of a gut feeling being correct.
CON
This stat, constitution,
DEX

Thank you for your interest!
Do you think I should do more development on this now or wait for another person?

Radarr-
Thank you for your interest!
Everyone-
I have started active work on setting up the game and will edit information into my first two posts soon! The game will not start for another week or so to allow me time to draw more Pel as well as come up with a suitable intro. I do have a few questions for you, as well... Some backstory may be helpful to you. You will be heading to a newly discovered island to explore, colonize and stuff. Mainly explore.
Assuming a generic fantasy world, what race would you like to play as?
Should the race you pick add bonuses to stats along with a disadvantage or two?
What class / job? (King/queen, heir to the throne, and major nobility disallowed. Other royalty and minor nobility allowed.)
Would you prefer to simply pick a set number of skills from a list / create your own with equal bonuses, utilize a point system to allow unequal bonuses, or just have me pick what makes sense for your character?
What kind of skills are you interested in, barring the obvious ones? (Such as stealth, swordplay and archery.)
