All the Neko are gone. They all went extinct several years ago. Many suppose it was inevitable. After all, with the rise of Aurum, it was clear the war would not have a peaceful end.

Delta has already fallen. Their leader, Sasha, is being hunted like a wild animal, along with her mate Zero. Beta has gone into hiding, terrified of Aurum's wrath.

What's worse, the relatives of Neko are being treated worse than ever. Many are hurt or killed for no reason- nobody cares about science anymore. The few that do only work on weapons and poisons.

With Aurum leading Alpha, the war might soon be over, after almost a century. But the cost might not be worth the wait.





Backstory info:

This is an alternate universe of Familiar Strangers, where only Alpha, Beta, and Delta exist. All the Neko have been experimented on to the point where they're not Neko anymore and instead hybrids and monsters. Nuro, the other species, had already domesticated every Neko a long time before-hand, and things had already been seriously bad. All three labs have actual leaders. Sasha led Delta, Aurum leads Alpha, and Minty leads Beta. There is a lot of amazing technology- Delta worked on medicine, healing, etc. Alpha works on making neko and nuro stronger, deadlier, and smarter, and Beta works on weaponry and poisons.


Character info:

Aurum: Blank and emotionless due to experimentation, and the only Neiko leader. She is abnormally strong and fast, to the point where she once split a neko in two with just her hands. She reverts to violence to solve problems, and will do so with no concern for the consequences, as again she has no emotions. She always acts unconcerned and relaxed, but if something is strange enough she will be very slightly confused (the only emotion she has the possibility of feeling).
Midnight: Absent-minded and flirty. She will flirt with literally anybody and anything, because she enjoys seeing people get flustered or embarrassed. She doesn't know when to quit, and will often offend people without meaning to. She's mated with Aurum, although Aurum has no idea how that works since she physically can't love her back.

Sasha: King and empathetic. She's always hated how the Nuro treated Neko, and the extinction of the species shocked her enough that her lab was taken down by Aurum. She's now on the run, trying to gather up her lab and supplies in the hopes that maybe she can bring all her nuro and neiko to a safer place.
Zeero: Shy and anxious. He cares a lot about Sasha, and does his best to protect her. However, he is incredibly cowardly, and is friends with Aurum, making this entire situation incredibly stressful for him.

Minty: Quiet and intelligent. She dislikes fighting without a plan, and will always watch carefully before deciding anything. She is an amazing strategist and when she fights she is quite dangerous. She's avoiding the fight mostly so that she can watch Aurum and decide how to defeat her.
Ink: Bitter and resentful. Aurum managed to capture her and poisoned her, but she managed to escape. Minty was able to save her, but Ink is constantly on the brink of death from the way she was saved.


Extra stuff:
Nuro are humanoid and like anthropomorphic cats.
Neko are very similar to nuro but smaller, and have a third eye on the back of their head.
Neiko can be basically anything, the only rule being they have to somewhat resemble what a neko is, meaning they are always catlike and most of the time can see backwards.
