There seem to be some rocks in the middle of the river that stick up a bit. Maybe you could try to cross the river OR you can try to go back through the forest.

They seem to have deep gouges in them and one of them is not colored like a rock would be.

The path curves sharply and the vegetation on wither side seem to get closer and lean inwards towards the path.
