Whenever I try to sculpt the [Griffi (Restricted)] Sanguine Crystallized essence using greater ice water, four frosty fairy dust, and frosty coating for female, I attempt to place as many jewels as I can (I have five, but it only lets me add one) and as many glitter as I can (I have six, it lets me place two). Then I receive the following error message:

You must use a valid amount of Frosty Glitter.

So, thinking I can only use as much glitter as I have crystals, I next try the same materials with just one glitter, and receive the same message.

I dont know if this is strictly a bug, but since it only lets me use the amount of resources I can on a specific essence, if its letting me place them but not use them something might be wrong.

Since frosty glitter gives a hidden trait (a second trait under a visible trait) and the majestic frost essences (like that griffi) can only have the restricted traits from their particular set, it is impossible for it to be given a hidden trait. Basically, you can't use Frosty Glitter on the restricted sculpts at all (it would just be a waste of glitter anyway, even if it did let you).

The 2018 festival overview says something different:

Frosty Glitter: Allows you to guarantee a Visible Trait in a specific eligible slot.
Frosty Jewel: Guarantees that a Visible Trait will have a Hidden Carried Trait.

Basically, youre saying I cant use glitter because it does what krin said the jewel is for?

Hmm... then the descriptions must be mixed up, because the jewels most definitely choose your visible trait slots (since there's a spot for each gene or mutation where you can put one on the sculpting page). If you hover over the items on the sculpting page, they also say this: Frosty Jewel - Guarantees a Trait in a Specific Slot; Frosty Glitter - Adds a Hidden Carried Trait.

So, with a greater water on a restricted you can use one jewel to choose one guaranteed trait slot (make sure to choose one that has an available trait on that restricted pet). The frosty glitter won't work since it is meant to give hiddens and restricted pets can't have hiddens.

That makes sense. I cant actually hover over anything tho since I use an iPad. Thank you for the info.
