As an artist who draws during lunch, break, and when I'm finished with an in-class assignment... here are some annoying things I hear too often.

Generally

"Woah, that's so good! Can you draw me?"

"Teach me how to draw!"

"Hey, everyone come and see this."

"Let me show this to my friend!"

When I do 'Commissions'

"That looks great... but can you like, make her, prettier...?

"Oh, I forgot to mention I want my hair to be purple. Can you change that?"

"You sketched it? I thought I asked for ink?"

"Can you please do colour?"

The Way I Draw, Etc.

"Ew, your eyes are creepy."

"Why'd you do so much eyeliner?"

"What kind of name is Neridia?"

"What kind of name is GaEul?" (A Korean one...)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is this anyone else or just me?

If you want examples of my art...

Example 1, Example 2

General is about the same for me, but I think the most annoying/offensive line is:
"Wow! You're so talented!" or anything along the lines of, "God gifted you with a talent!" "I wish I could draw like that!"
It's not like anyone who draws well can do so as soon as they pick up a pencil. It is a skill and a learned one that just about anyone could pick up. It takes time and effort to master, just like any other skill. "Talent" has nothing to do with it. :/

Commissions, I usually avoid.
I don't like ridiculous/silly requests. I like drawing/painting what I like to draw. If I'm really up for it, I open a commission slot every now and then, but it's incredibly rare.

The way I draw:
Well, that constantly changes and your style will to as you learn and improve.
I hate how I drew 10 years ago and realized later that sometimes the comments that I received were actually pretty spot on. xD It's best to keep an open mind. Sometimes YES, you did deliberately draw it that way on purpose and it IS meant to look like that. Others, your artist eye might not have caught that it's not quite right. If you're drawing on paper, an easy trick is to flip the page and look at it from behind under a light.
Does it look the same as your previous perspective?
Does everything look anatomically correct?

I HAVE drawn incredibly detailed scales and sometimes feathers before, usually in pencil. People always had this brilliant idea, "Oh hey! Look at those scales! I want to touch them and feel if they FEEL like scales!" And then they'd drag their fingers over them and smudge all the pencil. Like, thanks guys. :(

Character names: I always try to come up with some kind of unique character name and I try to make it fitting. I got eyebrows shot my way when I named one of my characters "Norse" though. xD I thought it sounded cool, but it wasn't an 'actual' name. He ended up being called Norris ("Norse") Erin Lenzi~ I at least got to use the name I wanted as a nickname.

Examples:
Improvement example, first is an 8 year gap I think, 2 years ago
Textured example 1 , Example 2, Example 3

Scanning kills a lot of the pencil markings for the textured stuff. @.@ Doesn't look anywhere near as good. I don't really draw/paint much these days either. That poor 2 year old WiP. Lol. I need to get it off of the hardrive from my last computer and into this new one so I can finish it. :(

I usually get the "Wow, you're prtetty good!" Or "You're so much better then me," Or "I wish I could draw like that." When I'm just doodling on line paper during class or break. To the latter two, I just look that perosn in the eyes and say "You wanna get better at drawing? Then draw a lot."

Comissions.... *huff...*

Comissions I usually don't advertise unless I'm desprerate for something to draw. My policy is if you ask, I'll do it, but I won't prompt you to ask. If I happen to get an idea from a roleplay I do, I'll draw and put that up on the thread.

As for style, I tend to lean towards this cartoony design, so it appeals to a lot of people. I usually don't get complaints unless I'm asked color it, bacuase I'm not the best at coloring. Give me a pencil and eraser, I can give you something cool, but ask to color it? I'll probably screw it up somehow.

Kind of the same thing with me.. If my art is not free not many want it and my artwork is kind of.. Different. I bet that someone else uses the same or a similar style but my human full bodys can be not anatomy correct or have details out of the norm *From what people have told me*

I have tried commissions and yeah changing stuff is.. weird. Like I save messages just to make sure I do it correct because it is weird for all these changes needing to be made.

I was the offender of the "You're so talented/better than me." until I realised that they don't really like me commenting on their art.

I get more negative than positive, and it's not just how I draw (as in my personal style, like with no pupils), it's what I draw (anime, objects)...

"Why do you draw me anime? I want realistic!"
"Why are you drawing objects? People are sooo much easier to draw."

To the former I say, "I'm not that good at drawing realistically, so if you don't like it, I'll stop drawing you." And to the latter, "No, they're not."

I'm the same way when it comes to drawing people....

"Hey can you draw my OC?"
"What species is it?"
"It's a human/dragon hybrid."
"Then no."

I can "sorta" draw people, I guess? It's just... not as good as my animals, which I draw so often it's second nature to me. I don't care to draw people as much, so I'm just not that great with them.

Same. People only ask to be my friends because I draw art. *huff* I wish they'd be my friends because they actually want to be around me.
Also, when people want me to draw their OCs, and they get frustrated when it looks different than what they pictured it in their mind, so they nag me to redraw it from scratch. (Also when people ask me to draw realistic stuff)

Main problem: HeY dId yoU dRaW tHaT?! Every. Single. Time.
Also the I wish I could draw that good BOI KEEP DRAWING AND STAP COMPLAINING

So far with commissions online I havent had any problems since I say straight out what I draw with + provide a rough sketch. The ones irl by family friends have worked out pretty good also and I havent had too many problems.

The way I draw.... well since I dont draw humans and dont draw normal animals that are relatable to most people they really cant judge. Also the people who are into what I draw (dragons) dont really judge much ( its a pretty nice community)

Ey m'dude I can relate. I absolutely HATE it when someone yoinks the drawing out your hands and like, showcases it to the entire class and I'm like: "S'cuse me but that's my [project] can I have it back--?" Or when people are like "Omg did you draw that freehand omg your amazing omg can you teach me omg can you DRAW me??" or like your just drawing and someone comes up behind/in front of you and either asks, "What'cha drawing?" and/or just breath down your neck and watch you sksksksk.
