Uh, Hello. Yeah, I'm just wondering what hidden traits are and what they do. Are they rare to have on pets? Do they mess with the appearance of the pet?

When a pet inherits different traits from their mother and father for the same slot, only one of them will show up while the other remains hidden. Hidden traits are relatively common, and they have no effect in the appearance of the pet. They only make a difference when breeding the pet, because there is a 50% chance that the pet will pass on the hidden trait instead of the visible trait, so if you are trying to breed an specific trait, it can make things more difficult.

Hidden traits only show on a pet's profile if the pet has been genetically tested. If you look at my pet Akaroa you'll see that two of her traits are colored purple (M1 and M2). That means those two slots have a hidden trait in them, and you can tell which one it is by the letters in parentheses. The visible traits in those slots are M1:(AA) Tail Whisp and M1:(AA) Butterfly Wings, while the hidden traits are M2:(BB) Pixie Dust and M2:(BB) Chibi Wings.

Hiden traits are second trait to the same slot, they are only visible once the pet is tested. It wont mess with the visual of the pet but it may affect the offspring of that pet. This happen somtime if the two parents have differents traits, the offspring may have access to both trait, one of witch in visible and the other in carry under that visible. You also can encounter wild pets having hidens traits but you won't know until you test them.

By exemple this girl :

Gene One: (BB) Tribal Markings
Gene Two: (GG) Frosted Glass
Gene Three: (AA) Shadow Markings
Mutation One: (AA) Spiked Collar
Mutation Two: (DD) Feathered Wings
Mutation Three: (DF) Flaming Hellhound Skull

have a hiden trait M3 for mech. helmet (the trait that have a hiden usualy indicated in purple) so with a bit of luck or the right male her offsprings could have it in visible instead.

The letters correspond with a certain trait. Two of the same letters, example (BB), would mean that the pet has a certain visible trait with no hidden. Two different letters can mean either a visible with a hidden trait or a carried trait. A visible with hidden would look like (BD), while a carried would have N first and look like (NB). Hidden and carried traits do not show up unless a pet is genetically tested.
