Hi there! :D I've been playing for a few days overall, and figured I should finally introduce myself.

I go by Monica/Bea, I'm 24, female, INFJ, Sagittarius. I'm a pretty shy person but I like meeting new people. Some of my interests include: drawing, painting, hiking, reading, gaming, cooking and music! Purple is my favorite color.

I'm also kind of overwhelmed with the mechanics of the game, other than exploring the main quest lines, where should I start with things? Raising a lot of pets seems like my cup of tea.

Well, you sort of just do what you want to do. I do recommend getting up to date with the current questline when you can. Ferrikkis can only be caught in a specific 60+ area and pets caught in that same area also have additional bonuses that you can take advantage of and breed into your pets. In addition it's easier to make money in the higher level areas and you get additional loot in fest zones when using a high level team.

It can be a bit overwhelming, but people here are friendly and happy to help should you ever have questions. The forums are good for that or you can use the general chat (see the left side of the bar at the bottom of the screen). Once you get to the third zone you'll also get region chat where you can talk with players also playing in that zone.

I'll try to give you some tips, I'm sorry if it seems to much like random informations dumps!

The main quest line is great for beginners and helps understanding the basics of the game, so I would advise against ignoring it.

For the quests, you should set a party of three pets as soon as possible.

If you want to get gold, you can send your pets on missions (you can access missions clicking on town's barracks in Esior''s Haven). I also remember that when I was a newbie, I did like playing to Jinxie's Jamboree (in Games), because it can helps win a bit of gold and even sometimes essence to generate sylesti and other objects.

Breeding is fun, and you can start doing it as soon as you want. You can do it while enjoying the other aspects of the games. I certainly started breeding immediatly after I joined the game. You can try playing with the generator so you can see the species and the traits (setting breeding goals and starting breeding projects is popular, you can do that if you want to, but maybe it's a bit soon?).

The seasonal festivals is only here for a limited time, so you may want to explore it now before it's too late. During festivals, you can get themed pets and items.

Some people have made good tutorials to explain specific aspects of the game, you can find them in the forum.
As Sakina already said, the community is great, don't be afraid to ask if you have problems or specific questions you'll always find someone who'll help you!

Thank you both!! This is really helpful advice, I've started on breeding and figured out how to purchase pets and how to do Missions :) and I'm slowly but surely progressing in the storyline. It seems like Missions are a very good way to earn gold over time, too! Which is helpful.
