I am new.
Looking for rare pets. I'm not really sure what rare is? I think themed is rare?
If someone could clarify what pets are rare I would appreciate it.

I have diamonds to pay for some.

Rare can refer to different things in this game. Rare could refer to star color, for instance.

Star color while taming pets tells you how many trait points that pet has. A visible trait is 2 trait points (shown in blue or purple on the pet's page), whereas a carried trait (shown in green on the pet's page) is only worth one point.

White/Gray Stars (Common): 0 trait points
Green (Uncommon): 1 trait point
Blue (Rare): 2 trait points
Purple (Epic): 4 trait points
Orange (Legendary): 6 trait points
Mythical (Red) 8 Trait points

As you can see, 'rare' in this instance is not really the most difficult to get pet out there.

Themed can be rare. Some themes are very difficult to find/obtain, for instance, while others are pretty common. Some are more desirable, which means supply/demand makes them worth more. One way to determine how many of a given theme are out there is to use the advanced search, which allows you to search through sylesti for a variety of criteria.
