So, I'm not sure if this is a bug or by design for some reason. I did look around but didn't find anything on it, so here goes. When I come across enemies while exploring, I get the two options of 'battle' and 'retreat'. If I choose to retreat, it throws me into battle anyway. Not every time, but often enough that it makes non-combat dailies take a lot longer than they should because I'm having to fight through mobs that I tried to retreat from.

In the Forgotten Tomb it happened only a few times the entire time I was there. In the Garden of the Magnates however, it's been happening as often as every other encounter. Like I said, I don't know if this is a bug or if it's by design for some reason, but any info at all on this would be appreciated. TYIA!

Retreating isn't guaranteed. It checks your party's slowest (Quickness) pet vs the level of the enemies you're facing. If you fail the check, you fail the retreat.

I did wonder, but doesn't it defeat the purpose of having that option if it fails too frequently? I'm not sure, maybe it's just my terrible luck lol

Okay that does make sense. Thanks!
