i keep getting killed, and really struggle with getting supplies. also, i don't see any of the druids spawning, is that normal?

Hi cinnamon! Yes, there is a huge jump in difficulty with the lost grove! But it does get easier over time! (getting to rank 2 makes things much easier, as does the gradual accumulation of vinethorn equipment)
My recommendations when first starting the grove: 1) keep to the top areas of the grove as they are easier; 2) level up as much as possible in the dungeon of the forsaken until you get to lvl 65,
Btw, both druids are directly south of the castle now, except the crazed druid who sometimes pops up to the east.
