Hardly. BIG Doctor Who fan here 8)! I only started with New Who (e.g. the reboot), and so am only really familiar with that, but I have seen one story each with Doctors 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, obviously the movie with 8, and, I think, most of the ones with 4, & liked all of them (though the ones with Doctors 2 through 7 somewhat more than than the one with the First Doctor).

Favorite Doctor(s), in order:
1st: Eleven & Twelve
2nd: Ten
3rd: Eight
4th: War
5th: Nine

Im very excited to see Doc 13, though :), unlike some in the fandom. As for the absence of the Classic Who Doctors in my list, the reason for that is I just dont think it would be fair to compare them to the New Who ones, because with the exception of Four, Ive seen very few stories with them. But given my preferences (The working theory in the fandom is that if youre only familiar with the New Who Doctors, your best bet when it comes to watching Classic Who is to start with Doctors who are similar to the one (ones) in New Who that you like.), Id say it would probably be (in order) Four & Seven, Five, Two, Three, and Six, with the First Doctor in last place.

Favorite Main Companion(s), in order:
1st: Donna & River Song
2nd: Bill & Clara
3rd: Rose
4th: Martha
5th: Amy & Rory

Favorite Secondary Companion(s)
1st: Captain Jack
2nd: Nardole
3rd: Mickey & Wilf
4th: The Paternoster Gang (Madame Vastra, Jenny, & Strax)
5th: The Master (Mistress) & Jackie (Roses mom)

Hey, you forgot to ping me by using the blue @ found at the right bottom corner.

Could I like twelve. :) I can't wait to 13 too. It is a big change but with the sneak peek seems really fun.

I also may familiar with new who, but still got lucky with being able to loan a few classic DVD they have at the public library.

I know, sorry about that :}.

Yeah? Cool 8)! I think hes probably the one that most younger fans/viewers like the least, because (1) he wasnt young & cute (Christopher Ecclestons Nine wasnt either, granted, but nor was he as distant, grumpy, and so radically pragmatic) and (2) he didnt start out particularly user-friendly, if you know what I mean. I personally liked that, though. It made him more alien than his predecessors (even Eleven, who was quite alien himself), and so made his evolution/character development over the course of his tenure all the more profound, impactful, and significant.

It is, but as Peter Capaldi, Doc 12 himself, said in an interview once, Doctor Who is for everyone. Truer words were never spoken in regard to this show :). Agreed nods. She looks like shes going to be a very fun Doctor 8).

Yeah? Which stories with which Doctors? How did you like them?

I didn't finish with 11th.

But for now 10th and 12th are my top.

Also, we have do never forget the Doctor some times had problem memory after regenerating. XD So yeah. Also, I think the new sonic is cool. :)

I am even relistening to the newho episode...So I'm at Blink right now also.
In Canada is the Provincial election. I have to go vote.

Because you werent that big a fan, or you only started watching toward the end of his tenure? It took me a little while (one season, to be exact) to warm to him, because at the time, Ten was my Doctor (my favorite, in other words), mainly because David Tennants very human portrayal of him is precisely what made me a fan of the show in the first place. I ended up being sold on Matt Smiths portrayal following his brilliant delivery of a certain line in the finale of his first season. After that, I increasingly grew to like him, until he outpaced Ten (heresy, I know :D) as my favorite. What did it, I think, was a combination of two things:
. The three main arcs of Elevens tenure (the Pandorica & cracks throughout space & time (Unlike some, I loved the way Steven Moffat & company messed around with & explored the concept of time & timelines doing that made us viewers & fans do more than just sit back & passively watch it was kind of a friendly guessing/speculation/theorizing game we were playing with them.), the Doctor meeting, falling in love with, and eventually losing someone who was basically another Time Lord (River Song), & just learning to acknowledge (though not necessarily accept, if Twelves quest to save Clara was any indication) loss in general, and the whole Fields of Trenzalore & receipt of another set of regenerations thing)

. The way Moffat & company analyzed/examined/explored the very essence of who the Doctor is, what he believes, how he feels, etc. The characterization & fleshing out of Amy & Rory did suffer a bit (at least until their last season as Companions; I liked Russell T. Davies method of characterization for the Companions better.) as a result of focusing so much on the Doctor, but I didnt mind that too much.

I love Eleven & Twelve for similar reasons: their characterization & portrayal, their story arcs (and those arcs complexity), and the fact that they were equal parts human and alien it seems thats the way I like my Doctors to be written & portrayed 8]. Ten has a special place in my heart, because like I said above, the portrayal of him is what first made me a fan of the show 8).

Exactly. Nods. And it was even more pronounced, because that particular incarnation was technically the first in a whole new set of regenerations, so the Doctor kind of had to rediscover who he was, and precisely what it meant to be the Doctor.

I actually havent yet had a chance to listen to the audios. Id like to someday, though, particularly the ones with the 8th Doctor, because we know so little about what he did after the adventure he had in the film.

Not a "true" Whovian because I watched bits and pieces of the other Doctors, but mostly watched the 10th/11th ones. (Someone told me that I wasn't true.)

I always get the 10th and 11th ones mixed up as well :P Glad I like both.

(Since, for the life of me, I can't figure out if Matt Smith was the 10th or the 11th (or if I do, I don't remember) I'll refer the Matt Smith Doctor as Matt Smith)

Hes the latter ;). Ten was played by David Tennant (the actor who played Barty Crouch in one of the Harry Potter films, if youre more familiar with those). You should at least give Twelve another try. Hes the oldest of the New Who Doctors (I believe Peter Capaldi was in his late to mid-fifties when he started.) and doesnt start out particularly user-friendly (He acts very grumpy, distant, kind of cold, and pragmatic.). But as long as you keep in mind that hes the first incarnation of a brand new regeneration cycle, and so he kind of has to rediscover who he is & what it means to be the Doctor, you should have no problem with him.

I certainly didnt. But then I went into his first season already knowing of & liking some of Mr. Capaldis previous work, and also being aware that he was a bonafide super-fan of the show, so he wouldnt do anything in the role that severely endangered the shows future. I was also hoping for a Doctor with a somewhat darker personality, and thats what he was like in his first season. So all of those things probably made it a bit easier for me to warm to him right away.

True, I like his darker personality for once xD.

I think the 11th season with the 13th Doctor will be fun to see. And she did say best friends, not companion so. ;) It is a big change. But it's time for a change and it the history of Doctor Who it's the 1st time that the show is broadcast on a Sunday.

Also, it will be passing 3 times in the day at least on Space (Canadian Channel)
