your pets don't "change" when they are genetically tested, we basically use them on pets to reveal their possible hidden traits. or with egglings, to reveal their stats, then their possible hidden traits and mutations when they hatch. =P

Genetic testing of a sylesti:
1. reveals the stats if the pet has not hatched

2. reveals the Maturity counter (which tells you how close the pet is to its next life stage)

3. reveals Carried and Hidden traits in the genetics- traits that can be passed on to offspring, but which are not Visible traits on the pet itself

Sandbloom's genetics are:

Gene One: (NN) None
Gene Two: (NN) None
Gene Three: (NC) Life Runes
Mutation One: (NN) None
Mutation Two: (NP) Chain Jewelry
Mutation Three: (NN) None

Given her parents, she's inherited both from her father (who evidently has Hidden m2 Chain Jewelry under his Visible m2 Bandanna), as Aquacloud has no traits to pass on to children (which I can tell because she's a Starter, and no pets made in the Generator need to be genetically tested to show their Carries)

Because he mother has no traits in G3 or M2 for Sandbloom to get genetics from, she couldn't have any Visible traits.

Can you explain the color thing with genes and mutations to me? As well as why there are different letters sometime and the same other times?

blue: visible (written like DD, AA)

green: carried (written like, NC, NR, etc.)

purple: visible/carried with hidden recessive trait (written like RE, HA, etc.) for example, this pet has vis magma runes (BB) but she also has hidden lucky runes (CC). so Blight has the trait BC in trait slot 2, she has visible magma runes but has hidden lucky runes, so she has a chance to pass on lucky runes to her offspring

hopefully this made sense, if i misinterpreted your question let me know :P

Just to clarify here, you absolutely couldn't have a Hidden trait that was RE or HA, because letters further down the alphabet are more recessive than those before them- so you can have a pet with ER or AH, but HA and RE are impossible to get.

Terrible example image:

SO, in untested pets you can't see if a pet has carried (green) or hidden (purple) traits but they still have them.

NN x NN = NN (100)

NN x NA = NN, NA (50/50)

NN x AA = NA (100)

NA x NA = NN, NA, AA (25/50/25)

NA x NB = NN, NA, NB, AB (25/25/25/25)

AA x BB = AB (100)

AG x BD = AB, AD, BG, DG (25/25/25/25)

(have a more in-depth version here)
