I was in a battle and used a net to catch a rare Faelora. It was the right trap for a rare so i used it.
I then aimed all of my pets to attack the other pet not the Faelora i was catching.
This then ended the round saying i was victorious.

That means I should have caught the pet or carried on another round to kill it.

I am really sad because it is not in my stables and it was really pretty

@Spooks, Being victorious at the end of the battle doesn't mean that you caught the faelora. It probably ran away; there is a dialog box at the bottom of the explore screen that tells you what is going on during a battle. Next time that you try to catch a pet and the battle ends like that, check that dialog box to see if you caught the pet or if it just ran away.

@Spooks, No need to be sorry. lol I pretty much did the same thing the first few times I tried to catch a pet. XD

I've noticed--and this is probably just a coincidence or I'm really lucky or whatever--that if I attack on the turn I use a snare, it scares the pet away, but if I have all my pets switch to a defensive/idle position, it works.

Not sure if that's actually what SUPPOSED to happen, just what I've NOTICED happen consistently. The traps might fail, but they never run away unless I attack.

@Clockwork, I think that may just be a coincidence; I've caught pets while using attack moves on the same turn as when I use the trap.

The chance to run away is just entirely random. It is not dependent on any other factors.
