This is an idea I had because I remember getting stuck a lot when I first started encountering the bandits, and then again when I started running into undead. As much fun as this site is, nobody likes to get their tail kicked over and over again. SInce part of the reason some of the early areas can be difficult is the low stats on starter pets - and because I have a habit of picking up or breeding sylestis I like, but won't or can't use - I thought I'd give a few of the lower level players each a pet with better stats to help them out of those early tight spots.
Right now, I have eight pets bred specifically for this purpose; six ryori and two lighiras. Their base stats range from the low thirties to the upper eighties - sometimes on the same pet. None of them are anything particularly special as far as looks go, but they're still quite a bit less eye-searing than than the wild sylestis tend to be. I also have a handful of lower-stat pets, most of which have at least a couple of visible traits, that I may give out as needed. They're all level zero, and training them will be up to whoever gets them.
Here's how this is going to work:
If you believe you would benefit from having one of these pets, leave a request below that includes
-Your username and/or your player ID
-Your level
-Where you're stuck
-What pets are in your current party
-Any colors or species of sylesti you just cannot stand
For example, 2015 me would have written something like this:
Hi, my name is Delphinus2 (user ID 32693). I am level 21. I'm having trouble with the Nightfall Bandit Camp and I would like to request a pet. The pets currently in my party are Lumina (Pet ID: 3754641), Luna (Pet ID: 4009941), and Tide (Pet ID: 4062630). I would rather not get a nytekrie or any pet that's mostly pink.
Your request doesn't have to be eloquent or elaborate, just polite. I'll keep an eye on this thread and get back to you as soon as I can. And don't hesitate to ask me questions about the game. Even if I don't have the answers, chances are I can at least point you in the right direction.

The Viridian point bandit bit
Current party: Unibow(lvl 13 light type)and a random other light type lvl 5 I think
Colours I cant stand: bright pink, brown, grey, red.
Species I cant stand: that weird owl thing starting with n?

Here, try this griffi. His stats are all mid-50s, so even at level zero, he's stronger than the pets you're using now. He should make a good tank (center pet, the one in the first party slot). I recommend attuning him to shadow, as shadow pets are tougher and heal themselves a bit more reliably than light pets.
This thread does a good job of explaining the pros and cons of each element and gives some examples of good party formations, if you'd like some advice on that front.
The weird owl things are called nytekrie, or nytes for short. They've never really been my favorite either.

Nope. He's all yours. As for element, shadow is easiest to use and use well, so it's probably your best bet. When I hit a boss I can't beat, I switch to an all-shadow or shadow-and-light team, and that usually does the trick.
