I have two air tanks and a dark magic pet. What should I place in the level ups and proficiencies that will do really well in the 25 bracket?

Mostly health for all pets, you want 3 hybrid tanks. If I recall you also need a moderate amount of agility, but health is key for arena battles because 1 more turn till you can use mend can be the difference between a win and a loss.

@Ash,

what are 3 hybrid tanks? So only do health/agility? Sounds like it would take a long time to take the boss down

I kind of take back what I said about hybrid tanks, which I use for my normal party not my arena party (btw, those are tank/damage dealers with an even spread of health and attack stats, that you switch back and forth when each gets low). For arena you just want tanky tanks with tons of health and some agility.

And yes, battles are going to take longer, but you're going to last longer too with all that health. You can't use items in the arena, so mend is your only heal. You want to get the most bang for your buck with that heal, and since it's based on max health you want that to be high. I haven't fought malgrog (or whatever his name is) since the nerf so I don't know how bad he is (though I'm sure he's still a pain) but I remember using mend multiple times each battle.

I used some dark and some wind. wind is nice for a little bit extra dmg and dark is great for self healing. I recommend just using whichever type best matches the best equipment you have. (I probably would have used 3 dark magic pets if I had had 3 sets of mythical gear, but I had 2 magic sets and 1 physical set). I still use the exact same group as I did the first time (so just some gen'd nytkrie, nothing that's been bred to have crazy stats). Gear is a pretty big factor.

@Ash,

one more question. Half agility half health?

and (okay two more questions )

I went with two air and one dark. What gear should they have?

@Cerberus,

Here's a quick look at my team:

Gabrielle Is wind
Rochefogne is dark
Eryngo another dark

I recommend having full mythical gear. I know I got through the first few with a mix of mythical and legendary, but that last fight I HAD to have the perfect set up (again, this was before the nerf so it might not be quite as needed).

The amount of agility you use should depend on what kind of gear you put on them. I would aim for having similar amounts (175 or so). Technically all my level up and proficiency points are shoved into health, but a lot of my gear boosts both their main attack stat AND agility.

I did something similar to ash except instead of wind i did earth, i heard water is a good tank as well. with ur dark 2 u won't worry as much about health since they will drain it from the opponents ti themselves. I believe with my set up i made it to the last bracket, although i haven't went back in for a while. btw agility is super important especially for the 3rd or 2nd to last guy. if ur agility isn't high enough he will nail u good. I took this advice and never lost to him. You will find once you fix ur stats up to your pets for the next guy, you will get better and easily take out past ones.
