Hello! This is a support club for all of those struggling and/or living with ADD/ADHD.

Please only join/post of you have/are close to someone with the mental disorder!

Share medications/self medicating, methods of coping, or anything that helps you get through life.

Rules:
You must have/be close to someone with the disorder in order to join
If youre self diagnosed, you must be 14 or older (because most kids will make stuff like that up for attention, or simply because they dont know better, and think having one or two of the most common symptoms that are common for any person warrants them having ADHD)
Please be polite to others
Be appropriate

I'm interested in joining. I have ADHD, and so do many of my family members.

I have recently started a new (or rather new to me) medication: Strattera. It's the only non-stimulant medication for ADHD according to my doctor, and at the very low dose I am on, it is helping somewhat.

I also take a Gingko Biloba supplement that helps a little with alertness in the morning, and it also helps a bit with the ADHD, in my opinion. But the Strattera helps a lot more tbh.

I have also raised 2 kids with ADHD, and am married to a husband with it. I am sure my dad has it, but probably not my mom.

Of course! The age limit is just for self diagnosis because a lot of kids will exaggerate or blow things out of proportion

I used to take strattera, but it never really helped me much... since (Im assuming based on the fact youre married with kids) youre an adult, do you have any advice for an unmedicated high schooler trying to pay attention and focus to get good grades?

I take Guanfacine (idk if I spelled that right), it helps decently

I also usually draw in class, I seem to focus better when doing so, maybe try to find something that does that, Idk how to help honestly

I like doodling too, but you can see the result of that in my science notebook, which has literally no notes (besides the note packets my teacher hands out) its all little drawings

The unmedicated life is not a fun one, but Im getting by
