Okaaaayyy.... Introduction time. My name is Sweden, but you can call me Swede. I'm the quirkiest of the quirky, the most eccentric of the eccentrics, the gayest of the gays, and the most awesome of the awesomes! (Sigh... I don't think 'awesomes' is a word...) Anywho, this is a guide for you newbies out there! Say hi newbies! Okay, so, I know my account is pretty new, but I used to play on here long ago, until I inconveniently set down my username/password somewhere and forgot it.... Okay. This intro's getting a bit long, but here's the basics. In this forum, Imma explain Sylestia stuff in my own words. I'll keep it as PG as I can, so no swearing from me! Now... Let us pray....

~SYLESTIAN SPECIES~

Hello there! Welcome to the world of SYLESTIA! My name is SWEDEN! People call me the SYLESTIAN SWEDE! This world is inhabited by creatures called SYLESTI! For some people, SYLESTI are pets. Others use them for fights. Myself... I study SYLESTI as a profession. PBBBTTT. Just kidding. That's from Pokemon (Just edited slightly). Sylesti are pretty much creatures that you can battle, breed, and design! (Does sound a lot like Pokemon tho...) There are currently twenty-two species, each with their own look and characteristics. Each of them I will list and describe...

Aerdini: A fabled species that looks slightly like a snake with hands, wings, and a flower tail. Aeridini come at the start of Spring to eat buttloads of pollen, which makes them good pollenators. I've always thought the Aeridini as calm and graceful. They have a strong connection with nature, especially flowers. If you pick one, they'll probably come after you like an oncoming train.

Aurleon: A bird. A Big boring bird that can practically live anywhere. They are very adaptable, but not one of the cuter of the Sylesties. They can fly long distances and come in many colours. I wanted to get a plaid-coloured one, but my brother told me that plaid was a PATTERN. NOT A COLOUR.

Bulbori: Bunnies with crystals on their head, knees, and elbows, they're sorta cute. They like places with lots and LOTS of plants. The gems (so shiny) are attuned to their magic. Apparently they have magic. They're well known for their gems, and if I could, I would steal them and put them on my elbows and knees!

Draeyl: Draeyl are lizards. End of story. They're very intimidating, and their bark is way nicer than their bite. I've seen multiple draeyl that have the right colouring for Barnie the Dinosaur. However, I think that if I caught one and named it Barnie, it would rip my arm off and beat me over the head with it. Draeyl are very fun to design, and you can make them look like dinosaurs or pokemon.

Faelora: Found in Umbra Forest, they're plant deer. They can grow plants and flowers on their bodies, and are very good at camouflaging in their natural habitat. I must sadly say that the Fae is definitely in need of a revamp. They don't have many genes or mutations, which make them not a popular choice to design. :(

Ferrikki: The most recently discovered Sylesti species, ferrikki remind me of ferrets. They have a little ball that they hold with their tail.... Or is it connected? They were discovered in an Alternate Realm, and they're very smart. They're probably the most popular pet to design in the Generator at the moment. They're practically ferrets with balls, horns, and feathers.

Griffi: The after-product of a Griffin mating with a Hippogriff (In my opinion...) Griffi are fabled creatures that live on the highest mountains in Sylestia. They look like eagles with a lion's front body and a horse butt. They have wings that appear to be made of ice. They migrate to Viridian Fields at the beginning of Winter to forage for food.

Kelpari: It's a Hippocampus. It's a magical water horse with wings that lives in the water. Kelpari are usually very timid and hide in kelp or sea fog. They like water, but they can use their hooves and wings to travel on land. But a kelpari using its hooves to travel on land must look pretty odd, because they only have front hooves. Does that mean they sort of drag their butt/tail behind them, or do their wings serve as back legs? Only Krinadon knows.

Lighira: A fabled species that look suspiciously like lions... They live in warm dry places, which is also very suspiciously like lions.... They appear at the peak of Summer, and they find mates and sleep in meadows. The rest of the year, they retire to hot caves. I mean, they obviously like the heat. They're very intimidating and could probably bite my head off if they wanted to.

Luffox: Very loving and playful, Luffox look like hamsters, bunnies, and warthogs somehow combined and produced this monstrosity. They can be found almost anywhere, in locations ranging from Viridian Fields to Umbra Forest (probably). They aren't found in dangerous enviroments, so you wouldn't find them in Lord Talon's underpants. They have very distinctive heart-shaped eyebrows and tusks.

Lunemara: Big bug-moth-things, Lunes are very hard working. They have been recently revamped, so there are currently many Lunemara with very beautiful designs. They make large colonies on the treetops, and are very loyal. They used to look really gross, like really gross. I got an egg once, and it hatched a pre-revamp lune, and I reaaaally wanted to squish it.

Lupora: Wolves. Or at least wolf-like in appearance (based on their name, it's kind of obvious 'lupus' translating to 'wolf' in latin.) They are predators of the night, and are thought to be blessed by Vaeluna herself. I have no idea who Vaeluna is, but I think she'd probably be a moon goddess. They get enhanced powers when in moonlight. They are very powerful, and hunt in pacts. You want these dudes on your side, or you'd probably get eaten by them.

Morkko: Bears with feathers, they are found in the Umbra Forest. Often found wearing armour, these sylesties are a sign of strength. They are fierce, but also noble. They are symbols of power. It is believed that Faerina blessed them, so now they serve her spirit and are guardians of her domain. Also, you don't want to anger a Morkko, because they'll bat your face off with one paw.

Nephini: Another fabled sylesti, Nephs are very hard to find. They're pretty much only found near Astryl's Vale. They are graceful as a hamster, and sleek and purty. They are very peaceful and nurturing, so if you have a little kid, just give 'em to a Nephini for a few hours and they'll watch them. They are hard to find in the wild, and little is known about them.

Ny'vene: Every fantasy website needs a dragon! The Ny'vene is the most fearsome species of Sylesti. They had big powerful wings and sharp teeth. They are direct descendants of dragons and can only be obtained by experienced Gladiators. They are terrifying creatures that are directly connected to the elements. They can only be found in Ethernia. Big scary big bois.

Nytekrie: Pronounced NIGHT-kree (According to Krin), they are spoopy scary creatures of the night that, like the Faelora, desperately need a revamp. They live in the shadows of treetops and swoop down on their prey. The unfortunate victim is swooped up and eaten. They are common at Faerina's shrine in the Umbra Forest. They are pretty darn ugly. They are, like their name suggests, associated with the Night and Darkness, though probably not as much as Lupora or Ryori are.

Puffadore: Totally Puffadorable, they are a fun pet to breed and generate. Considered to be symbols of royalty, these pretty poochies are good companions and are easy to train (Like poodles!). They're not very intimidating and are pretty to look at! The Puff went through a regen a while back. They freshened up the design and now you have the beautiful creation that they have nowadays.

Qitari: Purty ponies! Poland totally would approve (if you don't get this Hetalia joke, then you can ignore this sentence or you could look it up). These beautiful equines are stout and courageous. They look good with saddles on and they can come in rainbow colours! They're hardy and make good travel companions and pack animals. They have pegasus and unicorn variations. They have very distinctive scales on their back. I have a conspiracy theory on why you get scales from eggs and hatchlings when you care for them. Think Qitari-Toothfairy.

Ryori: They come from the Shadow Realm... (This is totally making me think of Doctor Strange and the Dark Dimension, and I can't help picturing Dormammu trying to slap those suckers out of the air.) They're thought to be phantasms. They can float through the air like little ducks. They use this ability to sneak up on thingies. They weigh absolutely nothing (I asked Krin), most likely owing to the fact that they are considered illusions.

Sylvorpa: Very adaptable, they can be found in many environments due to their amphibious nature. They are air-breathers, but can stay underwater for long periods of time. They also move very quickly in the water, though probably not as fast on land. They can be slightly irritating if you're trying to get through a lake in a Seasonal Map and they keep popping up like it's nobody's business.

Vulnyx: Sabretooth tigers! I love them. It's a surprise that I didn't make a Vulnyx as my starter pet, but I liked the Zolnixi Arctic Fur Mutation better. They had long sharp teeth and pretty eyes. They can be found almost anywhere due to their excellent ability to adapt. They are able to prey on almost any animal (even sylesti who are bigger than them), but I don't think that a Vul could take down a Ny'vene.

Zolnixi: Finally, we have the Nixi! The Zolnixi is the king of the Oompaloompa squad. They're pretty much the Sylestian equivalent to a dog. They're friendly and playful and fun to be around. They come in ranges of colours and a fun to battle, play, and breed with. They are similar in appearances to foxes, and have a rune of sorts on their tail. I personally have a Nixi named Stjarna, and he is the best Sylesti any dude could ask for... Though he is a big spoiled baby...

Genes VS Mutations: Which is better?

In all of my experience in Sylestia, I would personally say that you can't have one without the other. They both are pretty even, and you can't have Mutations without Genes. Mutations are usually the traits that draw the eye, but Genes help to complement the Mutations and give a feeling of wholeness to the Sylesti.

For instance, if I had a Nacre Kelpari, but it only had Mutations, it'd look something like this....

Shhh.... Hush child... Do you feel that? That feeling of incompleteness. Like your life is missing something and if you don't have that something, you'll die a hopeless lonely person unless you marry a talking toaster? Yep. That's the feeling. Now, look at this design. It's the same Kelpari, just with Genes. (and I'm not talking about bell-bottom or acid wash). Now look at that monster...

But... Together, it is like a symphony of design and beauty. Together, they are linked as one and it's so pretty. See? Genes and Mutations make all the difference!

Who is Krinadon???

Krin is one of the two wonderful Admins of Sylestia. He is the Enchanted Explorer and the very first of many players. He joined on the Seventeenth of December, 2012. He's uber cool and is always willing to help out and give me info for my guide! You can usually find him in the General Chat.

He is the GOD of Sylestia.

Who's Toris????

Toris is the name of the Kind Troll in Trollsblight Cavern. His mate is dead and it's better not to attack him. If you don't attack him, he gives you the a Worn Mossy Staff, which can be used as an Avatar Held Item. He doesn't seem to mean you any harm. In fact, why don't you go up to him and give him a Biiiiiiiiiiggggg Kiiiiisssss!!!! Just kidding, don't do that! Oops. You have a bit o' troll spit on your face...

~Nightfall Bandits~

Beware the big bad Nightfall Bandits! They are never up to any good, and are very annoying to fight if you're trying to get somewhere worthwhile... The lower class bandits are characterised by either holding a bow, sword, or magical staff.

They're a bunch of jerks and are a slow way to gain money and experience, I suppose. They have their own dungeon too. They also have a little camp in Viridian, which you need to destroy in order to move on to Umbra Forest. Also, you do not need to complete the Nightfall Bandit Dungeon to move onto Umbra, but if you want to, that is okay too! You have the choice of resetting the dungeon every 24 hours (That's approximately one day)
