so I havnt quite been able to figure out the 'taunted' effect that my tanks attacks can cause. Does it mean my pet draws all the incoming attacks to itself or that all my pets focus on the enemy that was hit with it?

the taunt effect causes the enemies to attack that certain pet that did the taunt effect so all the affected enemy's would attack your tank
