Does disrupting (regular trait disruptor) a themed pet with a restricted trait remove the trait? For example I happen to have the fortune of getting this boy:
He has 2 traits, the Arcanist Garb and Tri-Color. If I disrupted him with a regular trait disruptor is there a possibility that his Arcanist Garb is replaced with a non-restricted trait (i.e. Arctic Fur)? Thanks and I hope this makes sense!

Yes, the regular trait disruptor will change both or your rikki's traits. Since the Arcanist Garb is a restricted trait, the regular disruptor will not be able to give him that, so he will lose it for sure (at least, this was the way I understood it when Krin explained it before: that if a restricted disruptor gave a themed pet a trait you didn't like, you could regular disrupt it to get rid of the trait, then try another restricted disruptor to get a trait you did like).
