The Joy of Designing: Round Five - Designs

This a closed contest to those who made it through the application process. A big congratulations to all the applicants that made it into the competition! I can't wait to see what exciting things you come up with. (:

Finalists:

The Final Round will kick off today (7/20). You will have until the 5th of August at 11:59pm to submit designs for the round once it is posted. The week after will be just for voting. Upon the conclusion of voting, our winners will be revealed. There will be no workshop available. There will also be no advice given for this round or late submissions accepted. This is all purely you! Everyone who has made to this point will be awarded between 2mil and 18mil in prizes depending upon where you place. So may I be the first to give an early congratulations. It has been such a pleasure to run this contest and see what wonderful things you come up with. I must apologize for the delay on this round. I had planned to have it up Wednesday, but was called into work! I just finished working my 12th day in a row. :') You all have been enormously patient with me, my health, and my work schedule and I cannot thank you enough for hanging in through all the bumps in the road! All of you guys have worked so hard and I cannot wait to see all of that work come to fruition. Now! For the final round.


Final Round



The final round is much more abstract than the others we had. It gives you loads of creative freedom in the fact you are responsible for determining the theme for your design set. This round is geared much more towards demonstrating what you have learned throughout the competition - take this opportunity to show your ability to tell a story, create beautiful palettes, seamless transitions and loads of texture, to transform an image into a sylesti, transforming a sylesti that was previously considered worthless into a work of art, you name it.... It is your choice. The requirements for this round require you create a submission composed of 5 designs set instead of the usual three. You need to tie these designs together in someway and whether the pair is identical or different for a single set is up to you. Please do not disclose your submissions prior to the end of voting. Hey Ross is the voting round gonna be put up before or after fest ends?

The voting round will be posted this weekend. I'm hoping the fest traffic means we get a lot of voting participation! I apologize for the delay. I have been working two jobs and going to school, but I took this weekend off in advance to get caught up on housing keeping. ^^"

To make up for the delay, I will be putting some additional prizes into each tier of the prize pool! (:
