This is a book that I am working on. This is just a preview, the title is also temporary, suggestions are welcome. Without further ado......
When I awoke, from what I could see, it was night. I felt something rub against my back, and as I turned around I started to scream, before I stopped myself. No, you promised yourself that you would not lose it! As that thought drifted through my mind, I turned around. It was Lidir that was behind me, in his lion form. As the sun started to rise, I looked closer at Lidir as he slowly started to shift, as I looked the tendons on his body started to adjust before my very eyes, his fur started to disappear, as if it was never really there in the first place. When the transformation ended, I saw a tall rugged 16-year-old standing in front of me. He grew a beard over the course of a night! Good morning, Hlainn! He said to me standing up without hesitation.
Good morning to you too, I replied, one quick question?
Shoot!
HOW ON GODS GREEN EARTH DID YOU GROW A BEARD OVER THE COURSE OF A NIGHT?
It wasnt a full night, maybe a few hours, 8 tops! He said with a sure-of-himself grin!
Okay, you just need to stop! I replied, First off, youre handsome as is, second, you turn into a lion in the middle of the night, and third, you can grow a beard over the course of eight hours! I ranted ferociously, YOURE LITERALLY GOING TO GIVE ME HEART PALPUTATIONS IF YOU SCARE ME LIKE THAT AGAIN!
So?
Again, HEART PALPUTATIONS! He was starting to get really annoying, I dont know where you come from, but where I come from thats deadly! Without another word, he tackled me to the ground.
Dont move, theres a deer, I can sense it. If you dont move Ill be able to catch it for breakfast! Without a word, he went barreling into the woods. A few minutes later, he stepped back into the clearing with a deer in his hands.
Nice catch, eight point buck, you would have to be very stealthy to lead it from its family! I said in a moments notice.
You know more about deer than an average girl, he said to me squinting his eyes, Im starting to question you, probably more than youre questioning me.

I grew up with just a father, we went hunting a lot. I looked straight through him, into the woods, Ive received a lot of knowledge from him throughout my life!
You must miss your mother dont you? he questioned.
Yeah I do. I whispered under my breathe. NO, Hlainn you cannot cry, not in front of him! Nevertheless, as the memories started to flood in, I remember my mother. The one memory I have, seconds before she passed, her holding me.
Is bre liom t, Hlainn I whispered, tears falling down my face, gracefully rolling off my chin, and, finally, hitting the ground with a splatter.
What? Lidir walk closer to me, wrapping his arms around me. I collapsed to the ground.
Breathless, I looked up at Lidir, Its the last thing my Mother said to me before she died, I managed through the sobs, It was only then that I wanted to find out what my name meant.
He pulled me closer to his chest and looked me in the eyes, I know your name means beautiful, but what does it mean?
In the ancient language it means I love you I responded facing the forest floor, Thats why I cant stand my name, I CANT STAND IT!
SHH! We need to keep moving, He said covering my mouth and muffling my screams, Someone is following us, I can sense it! In that moment I heard it, CRACK, gunshots. Lidir grabbed a hold of my wrist and ran. Swiftly he ducked past trees and shrubbery. A few moments later, we were in a clearing and the perpetrator was standing right in front of us.
Pre-Words:
I know that there is probably a whole bunch of clichs in this preview. Im still working on it, and thats the whole point of me writing this preview. I could use a lot of input and encouragement. If you have any questions please contact me.
