So I have seen themed pets and I have seen offsprings that look exactly like the themed pets but they don't have the tag since they hatched from an Egg. I'm wondering if those are called Purebred Pets since i've seen a few people mention it before.
I also have this Ryori hatchling that looks like the Candy Corn Ryori. They are worth a lot too since I see how much they go for on the Advanced Search. But is this a purebred Candy Corn Ryori I have?

Offsprings from themed parents will now have a blue star on their lineage page that indicates it is a purebred. :) Take for example, my boy here:
His grandparents are themed pets that have the tag, therefore he is a purebred.

Do both parents need to be theme pets?

In a way, yes. Take for example the two pets I linked above. They are both themed with a tag, but if I were to breed them together, the offspring would not get a purebred tag because both parents are not the same theme; one is a Delphinium Zolnixi and the other is a Fawn Zolnixi.
If the male Delphinium bred with a female Delphinium, the offspring would be purebred. If that purebred bred with another Delphinium purebred, it is still a purebred.

Yep. It makes sense. Thanks so much.
Although themed pets cost a lot so I don't think I would be able to buy 2 parents and breed them for a purebred offspring.

Depending on which themed you like, there are some that are fairly cheap on the advanced search! And of course festivals are always a good time to catch or create some themed yourself. :)

Are there new themes released every year for the festivals or is it the same themes with some new ones?

Generally, there is a new set of Exclusive themed released per fest, with last year's potentially coming back as was the case with this year's Spring Festival. For the zone themed, after a new release of themes, they will come back for another year and then generally retire.

That's really helpful. I need to start saving tons of gold so I can buy traps and capture the themed pets for the upcoming festival in August.

Of course, happy to help. ^^
For me, the best way to make and save gold would be to do missions from the first and second towns; if you do the 6 hour and 12 hour ones each day you can get up to 100-150k day per day. :)
