I have the quest to capture a pet from Jinxie. The button to capture a pet doesn't show up. How do I capture a pet?

Are the odds of capturing Sylesti's very low? I seem to be having a very bad time with using traps. Even when they are at low health, far below my level, only common or uncommon, and I try more than once to capture them, my traps have failed all but once. I have spent 8000g on 7 traps that failed and only 1 that succeeded. Are there ways of increasing the odds of capturing? Or is there something I am doing very wrong? =(

Also why can I not end the turn after I select to use a trap? It still makes me choose attacks for my pets and at that point the Sylesti I want will often die or faint. I read that using a trap counts as "my" turn and that I still need to take my pets turn after that, but is there any way to take no action with them so I don't take out a Sylesti that I really want? Please help.

The only thing I can suggest is, don't knock their health down quite so far when you attempt to trap them; leave some leeway for your pets' attacks.

@Dragondream,

Sometimes you just have some bad luck with catching pets ;-;

Also, when you're catching a pet and don't want to attack it, use block. It can be used whether or not you have mana, and works as a "skip turn" move.

Thanks for the replies. And now that I have block I have been using that. Hopefully I will have better luck today.
