i went to the nightfall bandit dungeon just to see if i was currently in a fight, which i was not. from the looks of it, i wasn't about to be in one either. when i went back to the enigmatic grotto, i got a normal 'you are ambushed by a group of undead' message, but when i clicked it, it took me to the battle with lord talon/sapphire/and ember with the dungeon background.

That is actually how it's structured to work. Every zone in the game uses the same php pages to run. The way it figures out which zone "you're in" is dependent on loading the page. So when I click the dungeon and zone in, the game now thinks I am in the dungeon. If I had another zone open in another tab and switch to it, the game will think I'm in the dungeon because that was the last page loaded.

I suppose there is a way to avoid this which would basically be to add a hidden check and if the checks don't match it gives you an error and won't let you do anything. But that's a semi big task so it might be a bit before I can add that in.
