Exactly what it says on the tin! I'm always really uncomfortable on sites that make me choose a binary gender, so I tend to swap between them every few hours as a result, which is tedious, to say the least.
It's a simple thing to add and very much appreciated by many!

Hi there. Your gender is only viewable by you. So it is already hidden. When you go to another users profile their gender is not displayed anywhere. The reason we ask for it is simply for statistic purposes...for things like google adwords etc. So we know who to target for ads.

@Faiona, Oh! Really? That makes me feel a lot better! I still prefer to choose 'other' whenever I can, but that helps a bit at least!
