So hoping to find someone really kind and patient . .need help with how to post images and how to post images that the image takes you to a link . .found a couple threads on how to post images, one I understand using an image hosting site and another I couldn't ever figure out. any help appreciated please

what kind of image? If it's an internet image, you just need its image url, if it's an image from your computer, you'll need an image hosting site to upload it to so you can get said image url.


Anyway, up the top of any post you're making there are the buttons
Shown here:


In this case, images, you want the far right section

URL inputs [url*] [/url*] (without the *'s) and it used around a pasted link like
[url*]https://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=62543[/url*] = https://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=62543

IMG inputs [img*] [/img*] and is used around an image url like (hang on, let me grab a random small image from my stuff)

URL= inputs [*url=] [/url*] and is used to make a text link so

(or a sylestian image link as the destination

It's a bit different in the PMs, which use [*urllink=][/urllink*] and [*imglink=][/imglink*] instead of just [*url=][/url*] and [*img=][/img*]

i am trying to do the pink egg picture example of yours and confused is there any way you could re-explain that one please?

[*img= Link to the url you want the image to link to] link to the image you want to have in the post[/img*]

so in the pink egg's case
[*img= link to the pet's page] pet's image url [/img*]

how did you get the eggling's image url? that part confuses me?

there's a guide that covers different internet browser methods of getting the image url here

(If you're on a phone, then I don't have a clue, though)

You are missing most of the closing img bracket. Your ending currently looks like this: &owned=1*]
Filling in the [/img just before the * should fix it. Also, when you're making the actual images/links, don't put in the *s.
so, edit so your link looks like this with the stars:
