In the small urban town of brookeside, there's a forest, and in the forest, there's a stream, and that stream is the basis of much of young child society. Everyday, after school and homework, the children of the stream go to play, adventure, and exchange goods

(unless it's something a normal human would have, like being ambidextrous, or double jointed)

Locations/Characters:

Brookwoods Clearing:
A small clearing in the forest, the swap shop is in this location and many kids hang around here

Swap Shop
Run by Slink
A place where kids can come to swap things for food or other things, Slink's mom owns a nearby corner store, so she always has food supplies from there.

Oracle's tree
A treehouse deep in the woods, she and her crystal ball can seemingly predict the future.

Poison Grove
A very large patch of trees and poison ivy. No kid has ever safely made it through to see what hides inside it.

Elder's cave
A group of teenagers who play strange games with dice that have many sides, they know more of the stream than anyone, and will answer any questions... for a price. (They use dice as currency, the more sides, the more value)

Witch's hut
A young witch, usually referred to as "the witch" or "witch doctor" her parents own a pharmacy, and with the power of spells, potions, and parental permission, she can help kids with any ailments or injuries for nothing but a one time password (their parents phone numbers, for medication permission and in case a kid in critically ill or injured) her real name is Evelyn, but nobody (except for the elders) know her true name

The King's throne.
A teenager called King Samuel (Sam to people he's close to, sometimes King Murphy) who basically acts as the ruler of the stream, keeps everything in check and makes sure nothing is going wrong, helps to settle disputes. His room is a large playhouse with a chair out in the woods. His advisor (his younger brother Seth) stays there with him most of the time. The king is rumored to have a big crush on the Witch.

The Boy Scouts
A small group of annoying boys with survival skills, often having disputes with the girl scouts and acting more important/smart than others thing of them, but in a dangerous situation, these boys are the ones who you might have to go to, especially if they feel generous

A group of young girls who love helping the others around them. They hide it well, but most of the reason they're always helping is to earn badges, they often fight with the boy scouts

Faye Colins: a daydreamer, very fast, Eva's best friend

Charlotte Reuben: Manipulative and sneaky (twin of Sierra)

The Caped Masquerade
Older kids who wear masquerade masks and capes, act as guardians who protect the more innocent and weak kids from any danger, their names and identities are secret to everyone but each other

Bee: Second in command, real name is April Beatrice Murphy (Murphy is a common name is the area, no relations to others)
Otter: the most agile, but also very empathetic and fairly smart, real name is Willow Rivers
Sabertooth: physically strongest and regarded the most dangerous, real name is Katherine Palmer
Snake: The only male, he's very sneaky, and likes setting up traps with Fox. Real name is Luis Karington
Fox: Loves to play pranks, real name is Cecelia Miranda

Murph: A figure who wears a cloak and mask (different from the masqueraders) nobody knows anything about them except for one time they fought off an adult who came to hurt the kids of the stream. They're not known to be good or bad, as they will often steal from kids, but sometimes will give kids things as well. If Murph is seen, it's advised to hide or run as fast as you can, but most times, it's already too late.
Ivy:A young girl who hides in the poison Ivy grove. She was born with an immunity to the plant, and safely can travel through it.
