"Father? Why do we have to say goodbye to mother?" The colt quitari asked looking at the still body of his mother and the small filly that lay next to her. The lead stallion looked to his son, nuzzling the colt gently.
"Because she has said goodbye to us, she has moved on from this world along with your sister." The stallion said pushing the colt along.
"But why?" The colt said looking back at his father.
"Because son, that is how life works." The stallion answered ushering the colt back into the herd. The other mares saw to the foal, comforting him. With one last glance the stallion looked back just as the black shadows of the after life came to lead the souls of the dead on. This was life. Sometimes life was over sinner than it had started, other times it seemed to last longer than it should. Yet that's not the main point of our lives, we grow, love, start families, and grow old. We make the most of the time we are given. Sometimes we get captured by the humans, and given a place to stay. Other times we are born in captivity before being released into the vast world. Some of us are loved, others are left to die of starvation.But in the end it was all the same. Life goes on though, blossoming into many unraveling stories. The possibilities were endless. This is just one of those stories. It's up to you on the outcomes. Do you wish to live a normal life, or do you wish to have an adventure? The possibilities are endless.
