Not towards the folks who've given me something, but I haven't found where the pets have gone, nor have I actually gotten anything. Is this due to an error from the server, or is there something else causing the problem...? Thanks in advance.

We can't send pets automatically for free. To create a giveaway a person will put the pet you are receiving up for sale to you for 1g. You will have to go and buy it.
If you have done that always remember to check your hatchery, if the pet comes from another person's hatchery it will go to your.
