Traits that emerge (re-emerge?) after a species art is redone, I believe. And you could be right Nods. At some point before both of us started playing, the Nyvene (Thats what the species is called.) was redrawn. And a quick correction. What happened with Minerva was the opposite of what happened with your girl. Her parents, her father, specifically, has petal markings, but she ended up with Magma Runes. Not sure where her Dusk Wing trait came from, though. Her mother, maybe, if the trait in question is hidden and/or carried?

Let me see if I can explain it better. Ponders. When the art for a species is redrawn (like what will happen with the Lupora relatively soon), a combination of the species design, and, Im guessing, the mechanics of the program/algorithm responsible for how a species offspring turns out following breeding, eliminates some traits (or does something to alter the traits in question somehow, e.g. a visible trait will become a hidden or carried one (That is, it does not show up in a parent, but somewhere down the line (perhaps when bred with a different male or female than the parent in question was mated with before), it will show up in the offspring of the individual in question), and adds others. When that same pet is recreated (If it even can be.), then bred, certain missing/lost traits might show up in its offspring. Does that make more sense? I hope it does :P.

So in the case of the Nyvene, maybe half of the traits we are discussing (specifically, the Magma Runes (or Petal Markings) and Dusk Wings) might have existed as visible traits in the original Nyvene art, but are now hidden and/or carried when it comes to the current art.
