What's the best way to get cool new pets? How often do you encounter really unique ones to be captured? I've only seen Uncommon ones so far since I'm still so low level.

Welcome! The best way to get cool new pets is to buy them from other players. The highest rarity that I have encountered is rare but others have captured up to at least legendary. Captured pets have a randomized color scheme so they dont look the best so I prefer buying pets from other players to find better color schemes and greater number of traits.
