I keep getting EXTREMELY bothered by this so I just want to suggest it.

I can't stand that when you have a pet that shows something and breed it with a pet that doesn't have anything in the gene spot that it has no chance at all to be shown. I'd hope for at least a small percent for it to be possible to be shown. Just like in real life if you breed a pure white dog with one that has spots the puppies can show spots or not have any spots at all "carried"

I hope you get what I am saying I am bad at explaining.

@Cerberus,

I don't quite understand what you mean? When you breed a pet that shows a gene and a pet that doesn't, the offspring will always carry the gene? It doesn't show on their pet profile until you use a genetic tester on it

@Cerberus,

The puppy would only show spots if both parents carried spots.

Our system works the same way.

@Cerberus,

I think that what you mean is that if you got two pets.
That one have Visible and the other nothing, you wished
that instead of always carrying, there would be a small
chance to be shown?

I think this would need to re-do the whole breeding system
and be quite troublesome~ o.o"
And I bet there would also a counterpart added to that, like
a small chance you get NOTHING, which could be really
bothering... o.o"
Because not only you get nothing VISIBLE, you get nothing
at ALL, wouldn't that be more frustating?

I understand that it's frustating that it doesn't show, but you
can always find the carrying baby a nice mate that either
carry or have visible.
That or you try to find the visible daddy a carrying mommy
(or vice-versa if it was a female with visible)~ :3

I believe the breeding system is quite well done personally.
I found it coded nicely, but that's my opinion~ :3

@Sheechwan,

you put it very nicely. I was just going with how breeding works in real life but you have changed my mind because it makes sense to me now ^^" thanks for explaining

@Cerberus,

Our system is based on real life genetics.

In real life, an offspring can't "show" a trait unless both parents carry it. And our system works the exact same way.

In your example, if the father shows spots and the mother carries spots, then their offspring has a chance to show spots. But if the mother does not have the spots gene, in real life, the offspring will never show spots. And again, our system works the same way.

I hope that makes it clearer. If not, I can try to explain further.
