Everything stopped, but it happened to fast at the same time.

"We are all gathered here today to witness the death of Caspian, a beloved commander and soldier of the Sunlit Kingdom. He was loved, well-respected, and noble. He will be missed dearly."

Aurora was standing in between her mother and father, trying not to let any tears fall. Everyone was paying their respects, bowing their heads at his grave. But somehow, Aurora felt angry.

Angry that they were paying their respects, but as soon as they left the grave grounds, they would return back to their normal duties and everyday life, forgetting all about him. Angry that the war had even started, and over some petty argument nonetheless. And, angry that she couldn't save him.

Everything about this was wrong, she though to herself. Everyone left, just leaving her to grieve on her own. "N-No.." She whispered. Weakly walking over to the grave, she layed her head down on the stone and pawed blindly, as if it would bring him back.

"It wasn't supposed to be like this." She sniffed, tears started to form again.

"We were supposed to stay together forever! Get married, maybe have some pups? Even if they are hybrids. We were gonna live happily ever after, like in all those fairtales! Why? What happened? Why couldn't that happen? What went wrong?" Her voice crack and tears were freely falling down now, soaking the dirt beneath her.

"I LOVED YOU! I STILL DO! WHY? WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN?" She coughed and cried and choked and whimpered.

"I love you too." Something said. She whipped her head around. Nothing could be seen. "I'll always love you." The voice sounded familiar. Aurora sighed and tried to calm herself.

"Probably my imagination." She said to herself. She shakily and weakly pulled herself up. Looking up to the sky, one last tear rolled down her face. Then, she left and walked away.

What she didn't see, was someone standing there.

"I'll wait for you, my love. I'll do it forever if I have to."
