Hello,

I was reading through some of the guides here about how to compete in the Arena. Some of them made references to sylestis having "Max Stats." Well, if there are a maximum amount of stat-points that a sylesti can acquire, then what are those numbers?

Max stat pets are generally considered to be pets with Base Stats of:
2000 HP

100, 120, or 150 mana (in order to get non-fabled pets with 120 mana, it would take an arduous slog in pre-Grove areas to try and find 4-star wild pets of the right species. Fabled pets obtained as Exclusives have base 120, and 120 was the cap for a long time. Ny'vene bought for exceptionally high prices from the Arena's ny'vene shop have potentially had mana up to 150 since the Shops revamp. In the Grove, Epic pets have base 125 mana, and Legendary/Mythical have 150)(technically the max for a puffadore is 110, but there are like. only two puffadore that have that in the whole game unless someone has managed to buy another one from the puff shop since I last checked. Same situation as venes, but Puffs aren't a fabled species so they just have lower base stats in general)

100 in Str/Int/Dex/Agi

Max stat pets are the result of Breeding Projects.

Thanks for answering.

If I understand you right, you are saying that the maximum amount of stat points are, as follows:

Strength, Intelligence, Dexterity, and Agility = 100.
Mana Points = 150.
Hit Points = 2000.

These numbers are only achievable through breeding with the special philters or by using the rare fabled sylesti breeds that automatically have base stats that start around 40.

Now, how do you get an Exclusive Fabled pet without buying it from the sales? Can you catch one? What is an "Epic Pet?"

Well:

The high stats could also be obtained by an exceptionally long breeding chain, but it would take far too long to be practical. Special philters speed it up dramatically. This does not apply for mana.

Mana cannot be increased in any way- you need a parent with high mana for the kids to have high mana.

An epic pet is a wild pet with purple colored stars, and therefore four randomly distributed trait points- as opposed to the two of rares and the one of uncommons and commons. In the Lost Grove (Megazone), the power and mana of pets tend to correlate with their rarity, with the exception of themed pets.

I do not believe it is ever possible to catch an exclusive pet, fabled or not. Fabled and Exclusive are different in-game terms- Fabled refers to specific species, most of which can be caught in the wild under certain conditions: Ferrikki are only available in Lost Grove, and Nephini are frustratingly rare, while the others are either seasonal (like Griffi, I believe) or completely unavailable (Like Ny'vene.)

Grabbing from our glossary here
"
Exclusive
Pets obtained via special methods, such as the Seasonal Contest Boards. Exclusive pets have higher base stats than Tamed pets.
Sometimes if you look through tagged pets in the Advanced Search you may notice Exclusives
1. if there are one or two of a theme that are Exclusive when all the others are Tamed, then the pets are likely the chosen prizes for the user having had their theme design(s) chosen.
2. If there is a full shift, where it goes from all of the theme being Tamed to all of them being Exclusive, it is possible that either the method of obtaining that theme changed, or they were first available before the Exclusive tag was in place. These Exclusives have regular stats as opposed to the typical boosted Exclusive stats.

You cannot use Genetic Mutators on Exclusives, as they are not Captured pets.

...

(Breeding) Project
When a person is breeding to obtain something such as Max Stats or a certain set of traits; Themed pets are often used for these.

Moving onwards:

Epic, as 18eities said, is a rarity
There are two 'scales'-
'Difficulty', indicated by the pet's star count. In non-Grove areas, the number of stars correlates to the pet's base mana. A one-star non-fabled pet (example) has base 60, and it goes up by 20 points for each star (2 = 80, 3 = 100, 4 = 120. 5 = Boss, uncatchable), and Fabled species have +20 on the non-fabled, so 1 would be 80, 2 = 100, 3 = 120, and 4 would also equal 120 (up until now, the only possible pet that would be possible to find fitting that one would be is someone somehow found a 4-star nephini)
In the grove it *is* a display of difficulty, in that it determines things like if the pet, while wild, is assigned an elemental proficiency

and
'Rarity', indicated by the star colour. Tells you how many trait points a pet has, and how likely you are to find a pet of that... well... rarity. In the Grove, this also ties to the pet's base mana and Grove Bonus Stats (the + ___ after the base stats in a pet's profile)
(The Grove Bonus stats, at this point, drop with each subsequent generation away from the original Grove Pet, though Krinadon has mentioned that later there will be something to do that will... be able to change this? something like that.
These bonus stats also correlate with Rarity, however, but as at this point, given those facts, I'll leave them out)
White = common = 0 = 80 mana
Green = uncommon = 1 carry = 80 mana
Blue = rare = 2 TP = 100 mana
Purple = epic = 4 TP = 125 mana
Yellow = legendary = 6 TP = 150 mana
Red = Mythical = 8 TP = 150 mana

Fabled pets are different
Seasonal Fableds, which appear in the wild only in the Festival Zone during their respective season:
Aeridini = Spring
Griffi = Winter
Lighira = Summer
Ryori = Fall

Fabled species that can be found any time of the year:
Nephini = only in Astryl's Vale based locations- the Orchard, Astryl's Tranquility, and the Lost Grove- and Festival Zones. Very Rare.
Ferrikki = only in the Lost Grove. Not common, but nowhere near as rare as a Nephini.

Never wild:
Ny'vene = obtained from the Ethernia Ny'vene shop

Not fabled, but considered pseudo-fabled, are the puffadores.

-~-~-
Max Stats are pets that have the maximum possible base stats, and are only achievable via breeding done by us the players- fabled pet or no. You can either do your own project- taking multiple generations, a lot of pets, and a lot of philters (especially Prismatic Philters, which are, at this point in Sylestia's development, the Philter that gives any boost to HP), or buy pets from other player's completed projects.

Exclusive Fabled pets have base stats that are- discounting Prisma use and pets made via Seasonal Events that give the potential of Stat Boosters in the creation process- (depending on species, and if you helped it hatch)
Generally between 300 and 380 HP
120 mana
average 40 in Str/Int/Dex/Agi

(stat boosted Exclusive Fableds can get relatively close to Max in Str/Int/Dex/Agi- possibly average 70-80?, but Mana will nevertheless be 120 and HP 1000-1080)

Mana, again as 18eities said, cannot be boosted- you need at least one parent who has the desired base mana and Luck (due to the stats of offspring falling at or between the stats of the parents- so a pair of pets where one has 100 base mana and one has 120 base mana have 21 possible mana outcomes in any offspring they have- 100, 101, 102... 118, 119, 120)
