The Story
300 years ago, everything fell. At first it had started with a civil war within the United States. When the country was vulnerable, it was attacked by other countries. The other countries then fell into wars against each other and themselves. A world war like no other was then created. One lasting fifty years. And within those years, an epidemic was created. A disease that at first simply caused death. When people tried to cure it, it just advanced the disease causing those with the epidemic to no longer die from it. They were able to survive, but they were no longer human. The disease lived along with its host and caused them to go ravenous. All desires that made us much different than any species of animal increased. The human desire to kill over took their entire mind. They held intelligence. But that's why they began to hide and fight back with more. Those with the disease began to get slaughtered within the wars, but the human species was already falling apart. While humans stood against humans, the entire human population was completely destroyed. Most who survived were those with the disease. The ones who no longer held fear. Not even 40% of the human population that was left was those without the disease.
Now, everything is covered in greenery. Buildings lay in ruin. The war ended hundreds of years ago and the Illireds now rein. Over half of the human population that was, is gone. Those without disease now live underground in very small civilizations with a small amount walking the surface and trying to survive by themselves or in small groups.

The roleplay will occur in the same area (most humans created will live in the same underground city) and in the United States. You can use any kind of name English, Japanese, Spanish, etc.
It will occur mainly in a more city like, ruined area. Water is not very hard to find as it rains a lot due to how the climate changed.

Species
H U M A N S
Most of the humans live in small underground cities. No city is close to another and usually are hundreds of miles apart. They are run as a small community with rules they come up with together. They usually have a leader and few have survived without one. Any technology that had been is gone. The most they have is underdeveloped electricity lightning up their underground cities and guns. Every civilization protects itself from the Illireds, some have to more than others. Those located in once large cities, require the most protection. Some cities have accounts of what has happened in the past with large libraries, but not all have access to such information.
Those who roam the surface are either on their own or in groups of two to five. It's rare to see very large groups since they draw a lot of attention from the diseased. Those who are either brave and wanting to fight or stupid and on a dare. There are many in which do dare each other to go outside, but are always warned not to take such dares. Only those who are prepared to die should be out there. They must be ready for a fight.

A humans life expectancy is currently about eighty years old and they each only have about a child per couple or widow.


I L L I R E D S
Illireds are the diseased. They can reproduce, but their children are 99% of the time diseased as well. Those who are born without disease are usually killed like most humans. They don't need to, but they do eat humans although that's what they once were. They can feed on animals and rarely eat vegetation while human meat is a delicacy. They can go months without eating. They do have civilizations structured like packs, but they do not have any technology of any kind. They tend to have longer unkept hair, long claws, vicious looking teeth, and have red eyes.

They are not immortal and usually live to the youngest thirty and oldest sixty. They usually have twins or triplets.

Illireds call humans 'Ghosts'.

Apparel:
Rune is known for wearing layers of dark clothing. His first layer consists of a dark blue long sleeved shirt, that fits him decently. On top of that, he wears a bigger, black short sleeved shirt with a hoodie like piece of clothing over that. The sleeves are longer than they should be, but there are buttons that allow those parts to be removed. A decently large hood drapes down his back, reaching just before his butt. He wears dark pants as well, that are a tad bit slim fitting. He tends to go without shoes most places and has a grey bag in which he keeps things in. He covers his face with a mask outside of the city.

Personality:
Rune isn't known to be very talkative and tends to be seen avoiding others. He'd rather show his emotions through his actions, facial expression, and other forms of behavior, despite it being difficult to see at times due to his stoic face. The easiest way to see how he's feeling and what he's thinking is in his vivid blue eyes. He can get flustered easily and when he does, blush will form over his cheeks and nose and he'll put his face in his hands or find some other way to cover his face. Rune may come off as harsh at times, but he is very protective over those he cares about and can honestly be a sweetheart. He is known to try too hard, especially when it comes to impressing someone he likes, and will often try to make sure those around him are happy. He is sometimes a rather sensitive person, just as easily able to come down to tears as he is to snap at a person. Don't get him wrong, he can be an******and will fight when challenged(and will likely never give up when in one), but he does feel guilt when he's been too harsh to another and will beat himself up for stupid things.

Flaws:
Despite being fit, he isn't the most physically strong, in which having an actual weapon is much more affective than him trying to his fists. Despite being strategic, if certain buttons are pushed, he will just jump into a fight just out of anger. He is very socially weak as well. He can't talk to others for the life of him, easily becoming flustered in those situations. His fears can also get in the way of things, but he usually tries to conceal and push them down.

Fears:
Most bugs, spiders, birds (mainly just creep him out), deep water, strong storms, complete darkness, not being prepared, someone he cares about getting hurt (especially because of himself), rejection

Quirks:
He covers his face when embarrassed, will dig his nails into his arms or thighs when frustrated, bite his lip when nervous, tap his thigh with his fingers(or other surfaces) and his foot when bored, and will tug his hair also when bored or thinking.

Bio:
Rune was born outside of the city while his mother had disappeared from it. She had been gone for over a year, so most had presumed she was dead. Some say she had gone to another city and that's how she survived. After Rune had been born, he was taken back by his mother to her city. She was hurt and sick, but despite Rune's small size, he was okay. Soon after their arrival at the underground city, his mother died and he was raised by his mother ever since. Rune grew up being mostly taught by his grandmother and exploring the city. He easily gained a curiosity of the world above from books he read and stories he was told. He eventually began to sneak off into the above world, always being careful as he could. He would disappear all day eventually and as he grew older he began to leave for longer. His grandmother would always get after him for leaving, always saying he'd end up like his mother, but he'd always go back. He usually brings things back with him, whether it's from ruins or meat from hunting. Rune has only ever come across an Illired a few times, and each time he has been able to take them down but gained serious injury form it.

Family:
Like most other kids, he is an only child. However, both of his parents are deceased(as far as he knows) and he is taken care of by his grandmother.

Height: 6' 3
Weight: 174 pounds (fit, not fat)
Apparel: hand sewn tux, dress pants and the dress shirt to match. He considers himself a gentleman and must dress the part.
Personality: Eddie is a rather outgoing person, liking to help out those around him (if anyone came around) rather than himself. He is a rather good friend and can even be funny at times. The only problem is that when he has his mental episodes he tends to become a completely different person, becoming violent and hateful to those around him. It's during those times that he hurts people the most physically.
Likes: Gluskin likes to sew, and make clothes. He's a bit of a singer as well, and takes pride in his poetic ability. He also likes to met new people, showing them his home and clothing he has made. Eddie also loves to go to parties and weddings even helping plan them. He loves the dark, saying it doesn't hurt his eyes as much, and loves the rain.
Dislikes: He hates the sun, and being in too bright of light. He's also not a fan of people that just up and quit something. Gluskin will not take no for an answer either, and tends to turn to yelling and even violence to get his way. He hates harming people, or thinking about his parents.
Flaws: Due to his abusive parents (sexually, and physical) he tends to have trouble comprehending the world, and tends to act like a love struck teen. He can be a bit quirky at first, even being friendly towards others but at times he snaps and tries to make the victim into his spouse, which he prefers wives even if the victim is male. When told no he can be violent, and even clingy if he has one of his episodes. Otherwise he is rather friendly and calm. Gluskin needs constant supervision and maybe even counseling. When in one of his episodes he also tends to harm people for pleasure, mutilating them with a kitchen knife he keeps around for protection.
Fears: Eddie fears he will die alone without knowing what true love is. He also fears that his family will find him again, and abuse him more than they already have.
Quirks: none episode- friendly, lovable, helpful/episode: violent, angry, hateful though afterwards he feels lost and alone
Bio: When he was born his parents hardly left him to his own, though that changed when he became a young child. His father took a liking to him and abused him when his mother wasn't around then even she joined in only hers was physical abuse for she thought her husband was cheating on her for another female. It wasn't until he was a teenager that he found a means of escape, leaving when they found each others embrace. From then on he lived alone in an old home he found after months of walking away from his past. He stayed in the home for years, working to fix it up and make into his home. It was there he had is first episode, which led him to destroy the building out back, and harm a citizen that was staying with him. The man ended up dying of his injuries leaving Gluskin to clean up after himself. He vowed then not to let anyone else into his home to stay until he found out how to control himself. Though he has gotten a bit better he still can't full control himself.

Friends: he is rather social yet doesn't keep up with the friends he has, tends to forget that he has met someone before

Appearance:

Height: he stands on all fours normally so about three/three and a half feet tall
Weight: about 100 pounds
Apparel: Since he has been with Gluskin he has been clothed in a plain whiteish shirt with a black bow tie, as well as nicer black pants which have been modified with patches of leather over the knees. Otherwise though Darling tends to streak about in the nude.
Personality: Unlike most Illireds, Darling is rather calm and skittish about humans. For the most part he watches from the shadows as they pass rather than attacking them. Since he has been 'staying' with Gluskin he has became much like a toddler, watching and helping with small task his master set out for him to do. He catches on rather quickly though lacks to motet skills for speech, or for many human like activities.
Likes: Much like a dog, Darling finds joy in being pet and getting praise or scratches for being good. He loves to swim and to feach a toy his 'master' might throw. He also enjoys climbing and running, though with his new change in life he likes to settle down on the foot of his master's bed.
Dislikes: Loud noses and being threatened do not sit well with Darling and he will either fight or run from the danger. He also dosent like being left alone, or to be locked in one specific room of the house. For the most part he doesn't like other Illireds, or other humans for that matter. Darling hates wearing clothes and eating his veggies.
Flaws: Like most Illireds he suffers from his cravings for flesh though he also suffers from shyness and lack of self confidence enough to keep him from attacking humans unless he has to. Due to being underground for so long his eyesight has deteriorated leaving him nearly blind.
Fears: He fears that he will be alone someday, or that he will cave into his cravings.
Quirks: rather playful, cam for the most part
Bio: His younger years among his pack were full of violent and fighting for food, though he quickly found that it was himself that was the underdog. Unable to fight back against the others for a meal he grew weaker until they just left him behind. It was then that he was found, and taken in by Gluskin who nursed him back to health. It took some time to get used to the man though now he seems to not wish to leave.
