Vis = visible, meaning a trait which can be seen on the pet. It is usually preceded by a number, eg. 2vis, 6vis. Visible traits are listed in regular text in a pet's profile, and listed in blue (or purple, if the pet has been genetically tested and there's a Hidden trait there) in Advanced Search.
Carry = a carried trait, often shortened to 'c' (eg. 2c, 4c). You can only see these listed in a pet's genetics if they've been genetically tested, though they can still be inherited.
When gene tested, they show up in italics in a pets genetics section, and in green in Advanced Search
Hidden = effectively, a carried trait that's on the same trait slot as a Visible trait. This happens because of trait dominance and trait inheritance. They cannot be seen in a pets genetics section, tested or no, but in Advanced Search trait slots with a Hidden show up in purple if the pet is tested (also if you view the pet image url). (so if a parent who was AA in g1 and a parent who was DD in g1 bred, the offspring would be AD in g1, and their offspring might inherit either the A or the D)
We go over it in the second section of this post of our Generator Essences guide (the previous post there, post 3, covers Regen/regenerateable pets, which is another set of terminology)
TP = Trait Points, referring to a pet's genetics. Called Genotype Points by pet essences. 1tp is equal to a carried trait, 2 might be either a 1 vis or a 2 carry, etc.
We have a guide to Theme Design Contests with a glossary covering terms like Theme, Tagged, PB/Purebred, Exclusive, etc. here
Restricted Traits and Majestic (/Maj) Themes (covered here)
Prof = Proficiency, a pet's assigned element, may include what they've been statted in
'Rare' = either referring to a wild Themed pet, or referring to the star colour blue.
Common = white stars, 0 trait points
Uncommon = green, 1tp
Rare = blue, 2tp
Epic = purple, 4tp
Legendary = yellow = 6tp
Mystical/Mythical (honestly who even remembers) = red = 8tp
Star number = 'difficulty', in practical application relevant to capturable pets, relates to mana.
A regular 1-star wild pet has 60 base mana, 2 = 80, 3 = 100, 4 = 120
Fabled pets have +20 on regular pets, capping out at 120, though
In the chat boxes, Noodle almost always refers to the nephini species
aeri = aeridini *
aur = aurleon
bulb = bulbori
drae = draeyl
fae = faelora
????? = ferrikki * (they're new, and I don't know what they're getting typically shortened to yet)
griff = Griffi *
kelp = Kelpari
ligh = Lighira *
luff = Luffox
lune = Lunemara
lup = Lupora
mork = Morkko
neph = Nephini *
vene = Ny'vene *
nyte = Nytekrie
puff = Puffadore (*)
qit = Qitari
ryo = Ryori *
vorp/vorpa = Sylvorpa
vul = Vulnyx
nixi = Zolnixi
pets species with *'s above are Fabled species (puffs are 'pseuso-fabled', and have none of the fabled benefits). Fableds have higher base stats than regular wilds.
Aeri, griffi, ligh, and ryori are Seasonal fableds, appearing only during the Spring, Winter, Summer, and Fall fests respectively. Venes and Puffs are never found wild, Nephini only appear in the third region and fest zones, and have high rarity, and Ferrikki appear wild only in the Lost Grove
Theme names typically get shortened to initials so if you, for instance, saw someone refer to a 5v1c PB NG Lup, they're referring to a purebred Night Guardian Lupora with five visible traits and one carried trait, and if they mentioned a 2v epic SB griff, it would be a wild (/tamed, if caught) Silver Bells Griffi with two visible traits and no carries.
Base Stat = the stats shown on a pet's page in brackets. Used for a pet's overall stats, and used in calculating offspring stats
Max stat = final result of a stat project. All Base stats are 100, HP preferably 2000, mana either 100 or 120
Wheel pet = pets obtained from the now (mostly) retired festival wheels (covered more here, though there have been some variations of the wheel present for Black Friday in 2016 and 2017)
Elite = sort of like 'minor' bosses, usually have 4 stars
Named = bosses
Krin = Krinadon, site Admin
Fai = Faiona, co-owner
