Lags are really bothering me for the past few days. First, I noticed that Sylestia is now a lot slower, even slower than pokemonlegends.com, a site that was a lot slower than sylestia when I started playing, aka about 4 months ago. Then, it would take me one hour to have access to my stables, and then I have to wait for another hour to come here and write this. Worst of all, I'm stuck in the middle of a battle that I can't finish because of lags all over the place, so now I can do nothing but do stuff in forums. It's really bothering me because I'll miss a lot of trading opportunities, and my pets are all stuck at lvl60 in the battle. If this can be fixed quickly it'd be great, because I'll not be able to play after tmrw for 3 days, and I really want to contribute to stages w/ the rest of the community. Thank you!

EIDT: I could finish the battle now, but what's slightly ironic is that it took me more time to edit this than to finish the battle xD

Those are pretty high latencies. I'd be curious what the latencies are when things are going smoothly.

I also see timeouts with our server itself during these times of lag, which would definitely be an indicator.

May I ask where you are playing from? Are you outside of the United States? You can just state a country or region, don't have to be specific. =P


Judging by the latency, I am assuming so. Even if it goes smoothly, 500ms there is half a second per request/action. That can add up fast and even just make general exploring and battling take forever as it'll basically be an entire second or so inbetween every single action.


I haven't noticed any server issues so far, so I am thinking this is more isolated to your specific ISP's route to our server. It doesn't seem to be local as your early hops are perfectly fine. Just seems to have issues once it's reaches the United States' network.

I'm in the south parts of China, somewhere super close to Hong Kong, if that helps.(but being so close to HK doesn't help w/ google and stuff, gov. still blocks them D=) I'm now in HK for vacation, and I just did another:

Yea, 200 ms at the slowest vs 400+ on your other trace. That would definitely be quite noticeable.

I still haven't detected any issues with our server so I would have to assume it's some sort of issue with your other location's ISP making connections to the United States' networks. If it continues to happen, I'd suggest contacting your ISP and having them investigate. However, if it's from a school which it sounds like it might be, you probably can't do that since I don't think you'd have access to your school's internet account. =P

Nah I play @ home since our school is strict about electronics... and I can't really contact the ISP of our apartment's internet since my parents won't care enough about this to actually try and fix issues =( Well I guess I'll just try and come to HK more often xD and thank you for putting time into this issue=) I'll try and fix stuff if I can.

You might be able to find a VPN to use - I don't know how possible that is though for you. But I do know using one can fix issues like this.

Thx for the advise =) Our family's big computer does have a VPN, but whenever I use it my parents are right behind me lol. I could potentially get a VPN for my laptop w/o my parents noticing, but if they discover it they'll be super angry and ban my access to any object w/ monetary value except for necessities... I'll see.
