Henry took a deep breath, his bird body shook a bit.
He began to tell her about how he had first found out about his flaw in school.
The bullies.
The fire that burned the building he lived in down.
Living on the streets constantly on the run from gangs.
How he'd spent most of his life as a dog.
How he one day woke up in a rich boy's home, with a collar around his neck.
He told her how it went downhill as he escaped.
He quivered as he told her about the first time he went feral and...
"And..and...I..." He shivered.
...How he had watched himself attack people and-
He started crying bitter little bird tears.

Vixens eyes widened. " H-Henry I-I had no idea.... " Vixen's voice started to crack. A tear went down her face. She took Henry and hugged him. " Im so sorry..... " She said quietly. She felt horrible. Her had suffered so much, and yet he could still smile.

The little bird never finished his sentence, he just sobbed quietly.

" Henry. No one will ever hurt you like that again. Youre so special to me. You were the first person to talk to me, and I mean truly talk to me. No one ever gave me a second thought out there. I was just a tool. But you treated me like I was another human being. Thats special to me. And youre the kindest, most understanding person ive ever met too. You always found a way to make me smile, and when I couldnt smile, you were right there with me. No matter how hard it was, youre an amazing person. You can still smile, and keep living. Im not as strong as you are. And... " She trailed off, remembering his reaction to her peculiarity. Was he scared of her?

The bird looked up, his crying ceased, slowly a small bird-smile spread across his face. "I guess we both need therapy ducks." He said, sniffling, but obviously cheered up by her words.

Vixen sniffled and smiled. " I guess we do. Too bad I cant be a duck. " She giggled, wiping her eyes. She pet his head softly and set him down on the couch beside her.

"Maybe-" Henry giggled, feeling better about what he did. "-You can put on a paper beak and quack."

" And look quite ridiculous. " Vixen smiled. She laid back on the couch, and sighed looking out the big glass window.

"Maybe even superglue feathers to your sleeves." Henry continued.
