500 years ago, a comet shot over the Earth, so close, in fact, parts of it broke off, scattering over the Earth, releasing bacteria, and giving some people what the media can only describe as superpowers. Having powers is incredibly rare, and sometimes people can go entire lifetimes without even knowing they have powers- oops!
The woman speaking on stage knocks the projector over, the man with her sighing and picking it back up, trying to get it working again. "Anyways everyone, me and my teammate are from the Astral Human Association, and we're here looking for any possible recruits for our company, a group of people similar to police, but we stop other powered individuals with our powers" The woman finished her explaination. The auditorium cleared out, some people laughing at how the woman messed up the presentation, but you and a few others have stayed behind
