I have several adult pets who are well into adulthood but won't show up in the breediing grounds unless I have adolescents included. This includes pets for my next stage of my breeding project, which I've been waiting patiently for. I mean there really isn't any other way to wait for something I guess.
Two examples are http://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=203316 and http://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=207092

@Vaxi,
Bred pets cannot breed until they're 28 days old

They can be less than 28 days if they receive nurtures, profile views, or Magical Pies.
However, I see that the 2nd of the 2 is still an Adolescent, although the first now seems to be an Adult.
You can see what a pet's Maturity is (Eggling, Hatchling, Adolescent, or Adult) directly on their Profile page.

@Vaxl,
That is what it is based on - their Maturity, not Age.
Age = The amount of time since the pet was originally created.
Maturity = Whether it's an Eggling, Hatchling, Adolescent, or Adult.
If a pet says "Adult" on the profile, then it should be listed as an Adult in the breeding grounds. I'm pretty sure they both look at the same database column.
If you find problems with this still, can you provide a screenshot so I can investigate further? Thanks.
