Is it worth buying the eggs from the scale shop? I notice they all tend to be different prices, does the price difference mean something?

The scale shop eggs give a random (non-fabled) species egg, with random traits and colours. The more expensive it is, the more likely it'll have more traits.

Whether it's worth it depends on the player. Some players enjoy the surprise element of not knowing what theyll get. Others see it as a way to get more tamed pets, that they use to mutate. So it depends on you.

Hello

While the species is a random non-fabled always, the price may tell you about
the amout of trait points the pet might have once it hatches.

Most players usually only bother with eggs that cost over 2000 scales because these are
usually the best chance to get legendary 6 trait points eggs.
(Do note please, that 6 trait points does not mean 6 visible, as 6 vis = 12 tp)

For example this lil Luff costed over 2200 scales and hatched with 3 visible traits. :)
