"Max that wasn't a little mishap, it was a full-on attack," AJ argues, "We're on our way back and if Knuckles agrees maybe having Knuckles's help."

Zero gave a shallow nod in acknowledgement, one ear swiveling to the side.

Joe exhaled and set his mug down. "No, no, you're right. Just sayin' though..."

"He's being polite," Knuckles curtly remarked, earning a chuckle from Maxillium. "Ah, very well then."

Falconi follows Zero from a distance. He's not trying to conceal himself only to remind Zero whose territory this is.

"What do you suggest then," Kini asks, "It's not like we can just go out there alone."

"Still we need to be careful. If I'm right about who attacked us then we might have more coming," AJ responds, "So let's get going."

Zero kept his ears angled, but seemed largely unconcerned; He wasn't trespassing, after all.

"I was hoping you'd have an idea. I'm a jornalist, I'm usually able to just go places for work, you know?" Joe hummed.

"Very well. I will see you, then." Max returned before hanging up.

Sarah doesn't say a word as they proceed to keep walking.



"Umm what if we try to interview our friend Godfry again? He probably knows something."


Clay looks over at Knuckles, "Could the thieves have been after something and used the attack as a cover? Recently a friend of mine brought something into the museum to have it analyzed to see if it's Selkie Waverider's missing journal."

Knuckles shrugged. "It seems likely... Max is probably taking inventory as we speak, I'd wager. He usually thinks and does more ahead than he lets on."

"....'Friend'?" Joe repeated dryly. "He's a gentleman, sure, but he works for the actual mafia."

Zero slowed as he approached their destination. "I do hope this is worth the effort."

The Spaniel leads them to a clearing with a bunch of tough looking mobians there. Some are artic creatures such as lynxes, polar bears, and even a small eremite. While the artic mobians are the most noticeable they are outnumbered by the other mobians.
"This is a little under a fourth of our total team. Each family who is involved sent half of their best. Each can tell you there resumes if you are interested," The Spanial explains.
Sarah whispers to Zero, "I recognize some of them, they are as good as their reputation is, they are cold blooded killers and highly skilled."

"So did I," Kini responds, "yet you consider me a friend. Besides the Winter family weren't always the bad guys, sometimes they were the only people in between the destruction of this zone."

"That's good, why don't we go help him just in case," Clay suggests.

"Yeah, but... Ehhh...." Joe folded his ears back and hissed through his teeth awkwardly. "Winter and the Press... not good terms... I work for the Press...." He paused to take a sip of his coffee. "...I'm. Getting the feeling I can't talk you out of this though, can I?"

Zero gave a steady nod, a small, pleased smile playing on his face. "Hmm... It appears somebody's delivered. I recognize a few myself. This seems very promising. Just do yourself a favor and keep an eye on your valuables... and your vitals."

"Yeah, that's not such a bad idea." Knux agreed. "At least Ajal won't be running around too much either,"

"I know. I trained with or trained some of these people. I know who we are working with, Zero," The Spaniel growls slightly.
A hyena looks at the Spaniel and smiles wickedly causing the Spaniel to retreat.

"Joe, sometimes you have to make a deal with the enemy to save lives. I've done that before and in this case, we know our enemy."

AJ forces himself to his feet, "Yeah. I think we should get going."

"Please, allow me some enigmatic air." Zero half-joked.

"Is that a no?" Joe took another sip (more of a guzzle) of coffee, gave a long sigh, and set his mug down. "Okay, fine, but only because I don't want you going alone."

Knuckles rolled his eyes. "Yeah, look, just, don't get into any fights. I only wanna heal you once today."
